Petition to allow Ogre 2 keep Final Boss

I think its great that we are showing our support for FB and that we as a community are invested in the league and its inner workings. However, I won't sign that petition until I hear all the possible options and Sundance makes a statement about why this decision was made.

First the Stream, now the team thats known in the circuit, and probably then greatest team name ever, Final boss having to go with Instinct doesnt make sense at all. Why should they change the name to Instinct? why not Final Boss? I dont remember the roster being Ogre 2 - Lunchbox - Roy - Pistola - Sundance. Thats stupid, im signing this petition. I suppose it makes a tiny bit of sense that MLG wouldn't want to lose the name Instinct. I wonder if MLG would allow a straight up name swap, assuming Vic X and crew would be willing.

As long as the FB name is around it should be synonymous with Og2 imo.

I agree with Celpth. I root for Instinct over Final Boss but considering Ogre2?? The only thing I think of is Final Boss - that is where Ogre 2 belongs.

Here's the simple explanation as to why the name change was declined.

Ogre 2 hopped from 10th seeded Final Boss, to 6th seeded Instinct. He then becomes Team Captain, and requests team name change to Final Boss. It can LOOK like he's simply jumping teams for a higher seed in competitive play, and that would be consider cheating.

I see why MLG is doing this, and Tom himself did say all he cares about is winning, not some team name, but at the same time I get where he's coming from, and the community is coming from with it being the name Final Boss - granted I grew up with Carbon dumping on FB and Str8 :P - but you do have to see the competitive side of it guys, and not /rage all the time...seriously.

FB has been a huge part of MLG, OG2 is one of the reasons i got into competitive gaming and when i think of FB i think of the Ogres. Either let him keep it or retire the team name.

but that's also exactly what I'm referring to, they switched teams, and renamed - why can't FB. Unless Str8 dropped in Seed...idk I only pay attention to Warriors, what happened with Dynasty?

If the number 1 seed dropped Player B, and picked up some random from the street. That random would then be on the number 1 seed would they not??? or maybe i'm looking at it wrong. But i don't see how changing teams is cheat?

Unless its just individual points which make the seed? Again, how is that cheating? IF four players with high points decide to join up and they jump seeds, SO WHAT?!, thats their right for having those points.

Guys, I'm really not that fired up about the FB name leaving us (granted I'm an Instinct fan so this decision is in my favor). The important thing is the actual players are still with us. Its not like Orge2 retired or Pistola up and quit without warning and we no longer have the oppurtunity to enjoy and learn from their POV's. As long as Orge2 is still in the league FB will never truely die. And I would truthfully just give this some time. I have a strong feeling the FB team name will be back.

And yes, I will smile a little bit when I hear the FB chant at Columbus! That I believe is a really good answer to the situation!

i don't really disagree with MLG's decision... even though I don't know the specifics because i'm obviously not a pro, not on these teams, and haven't dealt with MLG administrative decisions so I can't say Ogre 2 or any of the individuals involved in this situations are incorrect but from my perspective MLG has the right to tell these teams that they can't be trading players and trading team names around from event to event. there has to be some sort of commitment on someone's end... a team name isn't just a team name, it is a seed... it is a franchise, and it shouldn't be passed around whenever teams feel like dropping and adding players.

It's not that FB is dieing. If I'm correct, since Vic and FIS are using the FB seed, they have the name, even if they choose not to use it. Basically, Final Boss is with FIS and Vic for CBus. Maybe if they don't go as FB in Columbus, it will be open for Ogre 2's use again.

I hope someone hasn't said this already haha.

They joined Instinct out of respect of their former teammates (Fis,and VicX), so that they will be able to keep their seed.
