Gears Of War 3 Beta Feedback

Pros:
Wall bouncing is so smooth
Good connections.
Great maps
Great new weapons.
Gears 1 feel.
The shotgun seems to be well balanced.
The gun skins are cool.
The map changes weapons frequently.

Cons:
Hammerburst is overpowered.
Sawed off is over powered.
Pistol is underpowered.
Sometimes the shot registration is a bit off, and the damage seems to be random sometimes.
Host prevails worse than in H2 with a shotgun. haha
Retro Lancer makes me want to kick new borns.

The first day of beta I played 50 games of TDM. Which is Team Slayer. but, you have 20 skills to get. After 15 the team doesn't respawn. I'm ranked like 200 right now. In the world. Can't wait to break top 100. I'm playing really well so far. I have a team already. And I've beaten a few pros a few times.

It's insanely fun.

I have heard my friend screaming about being one shotted by the sawed off like 500 times so I would say that it is overpowered. After watching some gameplay though, this game is going to be sick.

The saw-off and retro are a bit lame imo. I'm not really a fan of any of the maps so far, would be into some height variation. They're basically just paths for the most part.

Overall, the game is a lot of fun. HB could be less OP and the Gnasher feels good. I think it's definitely the right direction.

The retro lancer is something I forgot to look over. It's really annoying. With the shotgun being random sometimes I feel like retro can be the most overpowered weapon in the game a side from the sawed-off.

The only problems are the Sawed-Off and the Pendulum Lancer, both are overpowered beyond belief.
Host is pretty much gone now, haven't seen one instance where I could tell it was host.

i like the game alot, been seeing alot of bugs. But that is the reason why its the beta.

And YES! the sawed off is way overpowered and i have no clue how to use the grave digger.

No one cares about your stats. And I've had better. Haha. Grave Digger is rape. All you have to do is shoot it at them/in their their direction, and it blows up on them. It's anti camp. I wish Halo had that. haha.

Yeah this game is amazing so far. I love it so far and I am not even a real Gears of War fan.

My connection sucks, so just like halo i get owned in battles that make no sense and seem random as hell

Whether i hard aim, quick trigger, or just blind fire i get fucked over in almost every CQC battle

Oh whats really gay is how they'll be mid roll or just coming off the wall not with the barrel of the gun nowhere near me, and just body me to pieces

Other than that annoying shit the game looks good gfx wise, runs smooth (except for the bs), and definitely can be fun once dedicated servers are installed

EDIT: Another tip i know my connection sucks, I'll throw a frag right at a downed enemy and he doesnt die lololololololol (lets not forget it takes 2 pointblank shotgun rounds for me to kill someone who's down either, thats why i usually just melee for the final kill)

-Sawed-Off needs to be nerfed or taken out, same with the Retro Lancer.
-Frags/Digger need to register more when I shoot/throw two frags the first one never registers.
-Cover system is extremely clunky just like Gears 1, I can't get around cover sometimes, it's also unresponsive as well.
-Frags explode as soon as they're thrown sometimes.
-Gnasher isn't that consistent, sometimes I get 1 shotted from medium range after I put 3 shots.
-The lag is just becoming unbearable whether it be public or ranked since it's P2P.
-The Pistols damage needs to upped and needs to be able to headshot.
-Mantle Kick needs to have a button to press.
-The Revive Notification needs to be like how it was in Gears 2."

as for your post, I'm going to friendly disagree with you on a few things.

My friends and I had a long discussion about sawed off and came to the conclusion that it is just best if left alone. Yes, it obliterates anything in its path from point blank, but that's the thing....it has to be point blank. 1. He has to get there. Mow him down with your AR before he can come close to you, all 3 will do the job, and 2. as soon as that big moron misses with the thing, it takes forever to reload, rush the shit out of him and blow him to bits.

Retro lancer i feel is fine as well, but i could see some damage modification.

I haven't had any registration problems with frags or diglett yet, and i feel they're pretty effective, but could just be my luck lol.

I thought the cover system was pretty smooth and I can bounce around the map with ease, but I have come to points where I can't get around certain pieces or get blocked by some without jumping it.

Gnasher I completely agree with.

Pistol is god awful and does no damage for me at all, boltok I can do some stuff with and gorgon is great, but snub is terrible.

Mantle kick pisses me the hell off, but I feel that it has it's valuable use. Having its own button isn't really necessary though considering you're jumping over the object regardless, if there happens to be a guy there, then you knock him back.

Overall, I feel that a lot of the things you said could go either way, just giving my POV on them, not trying to start any violent discussion lolz.
