Although I have no interest of going to an event anytime soon to compete, is it possible to bring your own TV and Xbox? This is more of the legitimacy side, if you brought your own is it allowed or deemed an unfair advantage?

I don't understand the format outside of Top32 as I've never needed too.

Unfortunately, you can't. You have to get to LBR4 to get a full screen. Sorry :(

Would take way to long if they let people set up their own shit.

No worries like I said, I have no intention of going.

Just think it weird you have to play through a portion of the amateur bracket on split screen even if you have the equipment at your disposal.

Any reasons behind, why you have to play on split screen in the first place. Why you can't bring your own?

I imagine it is the cost for MLG and it being unfair for people who can't afford the official MLG TV.

EDIT: and what Eamonn said.

I just find it a shame, as a spectator I enjoy the production value of MLG and all that goes into it. I do sometimes think MLG forget its a competitive tournament platform and that what should come first is making it as neutral and equal as posible.

That is a good point, I imagine you would have too.

EDIT: Also what's the situation of Astro MixAmps, I imagine they don't have them on these stations...?

They have mixamps on every station, no matter if you're playing fullscreen/split.

There's simply too many teams and not enough time/monitors to let everyone play fullscreen 100% of the time. Once enough teams get knocked out (usually round 4), then you can switch to full screen.

You shed an interesting light on this, I hadn't thought that after a certain amount of time some xbox's/monitors would be redundant. What is the quoter of teams able to compete in Halo Reach 4v4?

it does suck, because split screen in reach is super laggy, and you have to hear someone else's audio, like you think you're getting shot at, or there's a grenade behind you, when there isn't.

I see what your saying ^^^ but with some reflection, I can see why it is the way it is. This year they are having 5 tournaments, if you have an xbox for each person they would only be in use up until LBR4. Which means those xbox's are redundant for 360 days a year..I think :S.

yeah i agree but i think its something worth working towards i mean if you win 3 in a row (most of the time you will get atleast 1 bye) you go full screen. it still takes 2 whole days even with knocking out 150 teams lol! but once you get Full Screen its sick dude.
