This is now the official Crossfit thread. If you do not know what Crossfit is, then I encourage you to check it out here:http://www.crossfit.com/

If you are already familiar, I strongly encourage you to begin this intense road to physical fitness with me. I will be posting my times, weight, reps, and rounds from my WOD's (Workout of the Day) here. I'm kind of using this thread as a journal or training log of sorts. I really do want you to join me in my efforts, and hope to give some of you the motivation to get out there as well. Ask any question you want, and I will answer it if I can. If I can't, I will try to find you the answer or at least guide you to it. I am not a physical trainer, nor am I even a fitness connoisseur, so take my advice with a grain of salt. I will never purposefully give you wrong information, but I may not always be correct.

Thread rules:
1. All official TLN forum rules apply. (See link at bottom of page)
2. Don't be afraid to post a question or remark. You will NOT be flamed.
3. Do not flame. If you are an Olympic Gymnast, great. Don't look down on someone who isn't. I will delete your post, and take whatever other actions necessary.
4. If you post something in contradiction with another post or Crossfit theory, please explain. All multi-post debates should be taken to another thread.

Keep it civil and clean, and this could be a very positive thread. Thanks guys, and good luck!

I love the workouts in P90X. The program will definitely get you in shape. Crossfit is put together more for overall athletic conditioning. It's SUPER HARD. Imagine doing the P90X yoga everyday. Then add weight to it. I still use the Ab Ripper from time to time though.

First WOD is tonight. 4 rounds for time: Row 500yds, rest 3 min.

I did crossfit last year but I trying some new stuff out with PT.
One WOD we did was like 500yds row, 20 pull ups, 20 sit ups and some other stuff it was crazy with like 4 rounds I think.

Couldn't do WOD yesterday. I got to the gym and went to play a little basketball as a warmup, and the gym closed before I was done. Well, now that I have figured out the gym times I've started.

WOD Sunday, September 19: 5 rounds, 3 sets of deadlifts, one max set handstand pushups.

185/10; 235/10; 235/8; 235/8; 235/8

I started low with the deadlifts since I have never really done them before. 185 was pretty light so I went up 50lbs. I could still go up probably; maybe next time I'll start at 235 and go to 285. I was also having a hard time with the handstand pull ups, so the numbers you see are modified. I bent at the waist and put my toes on a racked barbell. I pushed straight up and down, but the bend made it a little easier to push and balance. Tomorrow, I have boxing and MMA conditioning, so we'll see about the crossfit workout.

Rest day for crossfit. Not for me though since I played a long, intense game of b-ball today, and have MMA boxing and conditioning tonight. I'll need to take a break soon. I will probably take easy days instead of a full break though, since I am enjoying the gym for the first time in my life and I don't want to mess it up with a full on break. Anyway, tomorrow is running and abs.
