I was thinking about buying a razor onza TE and was wondering if the community could post some reviews or links to reviews. I play Halo and would love to hear what people think about it for playing reach.

Its more comfortable to hold, but the analog sticks are terrible, and i play much better with the microsoft. I do like the onza for halo 2 because of the MF buttons. It slow turns big time to the left and right, and that gets really annoying. So i say stick with microsoft until razer fixes the sticks.

Thanks guys i was already on the fence and i don't think i am going to get one. Unless they make some changes but that does not matter due to the controller being on back order.

The triggers are pretty bad as well,

Microsoft>Rzer

I loved the adjustable tension and the rubberized surface, but the sticks themselves were awful, and that is the reason im going back to my old controller

Mine slow turns on the absolute loosest control stick setting, and when plugged in for many hours (particularly to the front USB ports) starts to drift my aim downward on its own. Plugging it into the USB port in the back and unplugging it when I'm not using it almost completely fixed the drifting issue, and tightening up the sticks about 3 clicks fixes slow turn for me. I'd recommend everyone else try tightening the sticks a bit before returning your Onza claiming slow turn problems.

The triggers are better than the MS ones imo, and except for the unfamiliar feel I'm truly baffled how anyone could really dislike them.

agreed. bought mine at best buy a few weeks ago, returned it the next day. so much hype followed up by so much dissapointment. here are some of my negative points.

slow turns
stick tension is more of a gimmick than actually helpful
i get a popping noise every few seconds when using astros.
controller feels weird in the hands
triggers feel weird
sometimes i hit both bumpers instead of just one
dpad kinda blows
the braided cable gets tangled easily
i wish you could shut off the xyab lights. because i play a lot at night and i like the lights, but sometimes they are a bit annoying

one pro is i do like the hypersponse xyab.... that is about it

I agree with this, Im loving my onza, the triggers feel weird but you dont have to pull them as far in, the grip is awesome, and has anyone tried the razer slow turn fix? I forgot where the link was but you do it somewhere on the dashboard and it makes your controller more sensitive. I like the feel better than microsoft but the best thing imo is the buttons, I was one of the people who played bumper jumper in h3 but switched back in reach because of the difficulty, but now I can play a mix of both, I play on default but map jump to my extra left button and reload to my extra right, the only problem I had was getting used to it if I tried to melee and reloaded instead, but that was just until I got used to it.

I actually have not used it, but my brother bought his a week ago and first thing he said about it was " This would have been beast on H2!" I'm hearing good/bad things about them so I will try it this weekend and see for myself :)

edit: (Italic) I saw the SK vid and he mentioned twisting the knobs for adjusting turning ... i think..

Hahaha! The guy said she wasn't even that good looking, but he obviously doesn't know what a good looking girl looks like. Props to SK for replying to some of the stupid comments without taking offense.

I have the controller and I love it.
It has deff improved my game. The analog sticks being adjustable is perfect, the customizable bumpers, perfect.
This controller worked for me. So yeah, I recommended at least trying it out!

The Onza takes getting used too. The ergonomics of the controller make it awkward at first. I use D_Moralizes Onza on occasion but I havent taken the time to get used to it. The XYAB buttons are totally rad. I noticed the slow turn though. It could be adjusted though by tightening the tension some.

At least give it a shot. If it doesn't suit you for Halo, use it for MvC3. I use it a lot for MvC3 because I don't have a stick (yet).

I didn't know there was a slow turn fix. Since that's the case, the controller is definitely worth it. Especially with those mappables.

My friend Flish Flash, known as 'Pupp3t' on here, just purchased the Onza TE 2-3 days ago and it took him a good day to get used to the controller. His also suffered some slow turn issues (Primarily to the left) on the stiffness settings he likes for the analogs. However after doing the 45 Degree calibration (Steps can be found here: Clicky Clicky (http://help.razersupport.com/us-en/resolution.asp?sid=112500110330066249071141&pid=400000924&pnm=Razer+Onza&seid=400002732&pos=Xbox+360&top=Functionality&rid=400003836)) it seems as if the slow turn issues have been resolved. We'll be testing this more today, but in just the few games we ran last night we experienced no problems. Other than the slow turn the controller seems pretty legit. I don't quite understand the complaints about the triggers other than the awkwardly long tails they have. I guess for heavy fingered folks the sensitivity could get frustrating but we haven't experienced any misfires or accidental nades.

So my short Pros and Cons list is:

PROS:
Great texture/Grip - No more sweaty slippery hand issues.
Mappable Bumpers - No more claw for jet packing w/bumper jumper.
Adjustable Analog - No break in periods or keep it feeling like new!
Easy to use A,X,Y,B - Small pro, but seems like it will help avoid fumbles.
Really long braided cord - I hate rubber coated cords with a passion.

CONS:
Slow Turn Issues - Well, wtf happened here Razr? This can be remedied though.
Sensitive Triggers - Once again not a big deal for some...others it maybe.

Bottom Line, will I personally buy one or recommend this product?: Well no, I will not buy one anytime soon. I have a no slow controller from Envycontrollers.com (http://www.envycontrollers.com/Default.asp) that I paid more for than if you were to buy a new Onza, and it works very well! If I just had a plain Microsoft controller with a bit of no slow though, HECK YES! This controller is great for those of us (and there are many) that use bumper jumper but can't quite aim the greatest while jet packing/using claw grip style. I've seen my friend Flish Flash pull off some amazing and hilarious plays with jet pack since he's had this controller and it makes me a little jealous at times. The pros I've listed far outweigh the cons for someone in need of a new remote or interested in trying a new remote.

This may be a little off topic. And I'm sorry I didn't Wana make a new pointless thread for this. But whatever happened to the "mlg controller" madcatz was making a year or so ago?

It's still in 'design' phase. I forget where i heard it from...I think sundances' twitter

-------------------------------------------------

I just played with the controller for the first time about 20 minutes ago. First thing I noticed was how easy it was to press the ABXY buttons. My one gripe so far has been that if you play on bumper jumper...it will take some serious getting to. I mapped the right bumper (the extra one) to be a my X (for jetpack purposes) but it's in the position (on the regular controller) where I would usually press for jump. So now whenever I want to jump, I use my armour ability. Same thing with the other and reloading. Whenever I want to beatdown, I reload my gun. Other than this,. which I am sure i will get used to eventually...it's a great controller. I'll come back when I'm not so worked up on the bumpers... :P

I like mine now. I had to no slow it with a dremel but now it is good. As a bumper jumper new things are possible for me now.
