His GT is WWAR Mufasa, apparently he placed 17th in raleigh last year and is a semi in reach lol. i was playing customs against his team (with just some random friends of mine) when after the game he said "well that was easy", n its funny because we lost by 10, but i NEVER got out DMR'd all game. I guess im a random who has no points, im garbage, and in general just suck at everything i do haha, im like 99% sure he didnt place inside of top 170, and im just wondering if any1 has even heard of this kid?

XBL Badkids that talk trash because they miss 4 shots on me while im 1 shot (: <3 it

Ha. Haven't heard of him before, nor have I seen his GT or remember it. I made a post just the other day about the same thing, different person. Well pretty much. I'm trying to remember, was Raleigh the first Reach event? If it was that's why he may have placed so high, all the top teams and top AM teams were participating in Halo 3.

Edit: Not to mention a lot of people claim themselves as Pro or Semi Pro when they haven't earned the title. A lot of AM players will say they are Semi Pro if their earn even 1 point.

I really do hate a lot of the Am teams players or even the teams with like 16 points that think they are above and beyond everyone else. And they do not seem to realize that it is there egos holding them back to achieving more and better placings. Some people just have to realize that there are people out there who are better than most semi pros, and there are even people out there better than pros who are not known. If some good players throw their egos away i guarantee you they would place much better at events. Since getting with a good team is all about trial and error until you get the batch of guys(or girls) you mesh well with.

Like a perfect example if this kid on twitter posting that he has like 80 points or something like that and says "If you hadn't made it out don't bother messaging me." I don't know what everyone else thinks, but not having an open mind i think severely limits your chances to land yourself on a good team.

If you have points you have points, unless you are Top 16, maybe Top 32, noone is going to remember you. Regardless of how MLG classifies its players, to me you are only at least Semi Pro when you consistently place in Top 32 or Top 16. You need to EARN your title to call yourself that.
In response to highjinx, you are correct. I know that my skill is nothing compared to my teammates and the pros, but I do what I can do. My communication is on point, team work is a big deal with me. You can have a 10.0 K/D and never get on a good team because your attitude sucks. It's all about piecing together the right parts to the team and making them work. I have a negative K/D, so what. I play support and run objective, kills are not my main goal. Our main slayers chase the kills, that's not my job. People think you only need a good K/D to be good at this game. Well if I didn't team with my current teammates and played people mroe my skill set, I'm sure I could have a decent K/D and say I'm good too. It's all about how the team works together and what they accomplish together.
I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but watching the Pros play I notice one big thing. Stats. LOL I know I know I just went on how stats aren't the most important thing. Well my point is while a lot of AM teams playing each other, even online, will get their normal stats. The Pros seem to usually double those numbers a lot because of their positioning and communication.
Perfect example, and sorry to bring this up again, would be Totz. People say his K/D is grabage and what not, but he has an amazing record for placings at events. It's all how the team can take what they have and make work as one.

A lot of you may say it's dumb to compare the two, but a perfect example is the 1980 Miracle on Ice team. The USA Men's Olympic ice hockey team, full of unknown college kids, defeated the best team in the world. The Soviets were the best team in the world from probably 1061-1980. Rarely lost. Yet Herb Brooks was able to piece together a hockey team not by talent, but by picking players to play certain roles. Look how that turned out for them......
