FREE from the PSN

Sony's Patrick Seybold just revealed on the PlayStation Blog how the company is going to make up for the great PlayStation meltdown in North America. Highlights include two free PS3 games, two free PSP games, free movie rentals, and much more.

The goodies are available to all PlayStation Network and Qriocity users after the services are back in full capacity.

When that time comes, all PSN users can download two of the following games in a 30-day window for free to keep forever:

•Dead Nation
•Infamous
•LittleBigPlanet
•Super Stardust HD
•Wipeout HD + Fury

Same deal for PSP on two of these games:

•LittleBigPlanet (PSP)
•ModNation Racers
•Pursuit Force
•Killzone Liberation

Further bonuses include:

* A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.

* 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PlayStation Plus subscribers.

* Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.

* Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.

* Additional 30 days + time lost for existing members of Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscription free of charge for existing Premium/Basic members.

* To welcome users Home, PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.

So what do all the PS3 and PSP owners think? Is this enough to make up for lost time and compromised security? Is it more than enough? What offers do you plan to take advantage of?

seems fair, i wish mircrosoft would be nice to let your gamerscore be microsoft points for only one day, that would be sick

@MidKnight...I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't done something like that. Maybe not a one day thing or else they could potentially lose out on a lot of money. But kind of like Bank points systems. A certain amount of GameScore points could be transferred into Microsoft Points. Example 100 Gamescore Points = 10 MS Points

As for PSN, I don't personally own one, but if I did and possibly lost personal information because of it. I would want my choice of game LOL. Not a choice of 5. That's like saying, to me at least, we are sorry but not really. Hope this is enough to keep you happy and stay with PSN.

here is the think that bugs me and i wont like im happy with this idea but they made the games that are free that way for a reason EVERYONE ALREADY OWNS THEM! AND they have a Sequel out already or one coming next month (INfamous2)

They are like the faces of PS3, the exclusives (excluding KillZone) Think of them as Xbox's Halo.

i dont know if you can if your new to PSN but ill look into is cuz yes i bought a PS3 for Infamous and Uncharted (it came with killzone 2 and MGS4) and then God of War 3 but LBP and INfamous are HUGE titles for the PS3

Microsoft would never ever ever ever ever ever ever do that. You really think they want people like me spending 48,790 Microsoft points with no profit? There are plenty of people out there with way more than that too. Trust me, Xbox will never do anything with Microsoft points.

OT: It seems like the games they are offering are the ones everybody already has? It's like Microsoft offering Halo: Reach and Black Ops. Everyone already has them.

To clear up the question that if you make a new psn account; can you get the free content? NO. In the press release about the free content, it states you must have a psn account that was created BEFORE April 20th 2011 to be eligible.

i do love that game lol i finally got all my Heroes to level 100 now i just gotta get all the villans to level 100. lol i chose not to transfer my levels over from Dissida 1 so now i have to RE level them all up lol.
