Big decision that I need help making....Help?

SO as some (probably none) of you know, I'm part of this editing group called Viral Design. We are sponsored by SteelSeries, and they are flying some of us out to L.A. in early June for E3 2011. I would have to fly myself out there, but if I did, I could obtain access into the venue via SteelSeries just like some of my VD counterparts are doing (except SteelSeries is flying them out). However, if I do this, I won't have enough funds to attend PvJ 5.

Both are a great experience, and I'd enjoy both regardless. What do you think I should do? I came up with some pros of both events, I'll edit with more later...


PvJ
Pros:
Get to meet and greet with pros all weekend, become friends (maybe)
Get to improve my halo gameplay
Get to have an awesome time and probably meet friends that will last a long time.
Get to enjoy the weekend hassle-free without having to worry about food, lodging, and transportation.

E3

Pros:
Literally a once in a lifetime opportunity. More PVJ's will come, but I won't always be granted access to a private event like this.
Get to enjoy the weekend with some of my close friends from Viral Design
Get to enjoy the lovely venue of E3, meet and greet with various high-class individuals (T2, for example, will be there, so will SXEPhil - both of which being my idols).
Get to travel to LA (I was just in Chicago a couple months ago, haven't been to L.A. in a year or so)

E3 is a much bigger event and for sure worth going to just for the experience.

I personally think that E3 is the better decision man. There will be alot of PvJs along the way. Do what you gotta do man, either way you're meeting your idol t2 cause he will be at both PvJ and E3, hope you make a great decision!

It depends. E3 is a retail event where they tell you the features and shove stupid info down your throat, but I'm not saying it isn't a once in a lifetime thing being that it is private. If i were you, I would go to GDC. Much more interesting, if you're a nerd.

E3. Like you said there are plenty of other PvJ's you can go to, but this is the only E3 that you know you can go to. Have fun man :D

If you're considering (or already have) a professional career in the industry then E3 is the place to go, no question. All of the people you NEED to get to know will be there but be aware they won't necessarily be visible or accessible. My experience of this kind of even is that all the real contacts are made and business done behind the scenes, in the bar or back at the hotel. If you're with someone who's "in the know", try to get introduced to as many people as possible and maybe see if you can snag an invite to one or more of the numerous unofficial industry get-togethers that will be happening. As with most things, it's not what you know, it's who...

If you're not looking for that kind of action then E3 is a fantastic experience anyway - have fun!

It really depends on where you think your going to have have more fun. If it were me i would go to PvJ only because i know i would have more fun there. but it sounds like you would enjoy yourself more at E3, so based on what you said i would suggest E3.
