Recording game-play

Hey guys, I have a small problem I was hoping you could help out with. I'm looking for a way to record and possibly broadcast my game-play, this would be easy to do but I play using vga cables to a monitor. If you could give me any info on the best products and how to do it, it would be a huge help.

I think thats what you are looking for but i'm not an expert. Also i think splitters are an option.

You can use any cap card with the following set up.

XBOX-VGA cable from XBOX to SPLITTER. VGA to X (where X is whatever input your cap card uses) from SPLITTER to CAP CARD. regular VGA from SPLITTER to MONITOR.

This is a basic setup that is pretty inexpensive. I have used it before and it works. This also assumes that you have no output on your monitor. If you do, it may be easier to output from the monitor to the cap card. It may prevent screen lag, though I don't really remember if the splitter causes any in the first place.

After you've split the signal:

If you're wondering about capture cards it really depends how much you're willing to spend.
Hauppauge HDPVR is the most common HD capture card but you have to manually re-encode it with Graph Edit to stream so i guess that's a no. (More Info) (http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_hdpvr.html)
The Black Magic Intensity Pro will work for streaming but you can only record/stream compressed MJPEG if you're computers not a beast and set up correctly. MJPEG compressed is still better than 95% of other cards though. If you have USB 3.0 imports on your computer there's the Black Magic Intensity Shuttle.
