All of the details are here (http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/news/the-new-halo-game-testing-process).

MLG is finally taking steps to change their map testing process. Regardless of what you think about the current map lineup, I think everyone has to agree that it was less than ideal that the pros voting on the gametypes often had never played the gametypes being voted on. After the uproar over how V4 came out, MLG heard the feedback and has come out with this new system.

Basically Thursdays they're running scheduled testing with the pros and then on weekends they're asking the community to play their test maps and give feedback. In order to actually give feedback and not have your post deleted, you have to provide a Bungie.net link showing that you did actually play the map properly before giving feedback. The final choice lies with Killa KC, Anakin, and the rest of the crew at MLG while pro feedback and community feedback from those who have actually played the maps is factored into what they decide.

I'm pumped to run test games and have a direct impact on what maps are played in playlist and on the circuit, how about you TLN?

Man. I was gonna post this yesterday but I assumed someone else had posted it already. Lol.

Yeah I was going to wait for someone who's actually active here to post it, but nobody did (or I don't think anybody did anyway, search isn't working for some reason). Since testing starts tomorrow, I figured I'd get the word out since this thing only benefits from more people knowing about it.

Also, @Killa_KC is asking people to tweet him what maps they want to see tested *cough*Awesometown!*cough* so tweet him your favorites.

That's awesome. I have a feeling the best maps for Reach are still to come.

Saw this earlier today. Pretty awesome news for the community. The community better not complain about the gametypes anymore.

This new process is a joke. It addresses the issues found with the reliance on pro polls, but nothing to do with the initial selection process. TaK is still capable of flexing his e-muscle and picking whatever the hell he pleases, often for some real piss poor reasons.
Of course it shouldn't bother you too much Ladi, he's one of your buddies...

What'd TaK push for v5 now?

1. Oversoul - Amazing
2. Awesometown - Good
3. Sierra - Mediocre
4. Enclosed - Shit
5. Fractal - Bad
6. Ministry - Decent
7. Astro - Good
8. Commons - Mediocre
9. Century - Decent
10. Oxide - Mediocre

Pretty piss awful list there. Most of the maps are ones that TaK finds to be "unique" though, or "polished", however maps that have been tested and played a hell of a lot more, maps that have been requested by large portions of the community, get tossed aside... One in particular because of a personal bias. TaK's a joke and the forge community will not flourish until he's gone.

Apparently criticizing TaK's map selection is a cause for banning over at MLG. Gotta love how mature some moderators are... *cough* Zanno *cough*
