Hey there everyone. You may have seen some of the threads I've posted in the past about signatures. I get a lot of requests, but no payments. I'm curious as to why people wouldn't want to pay $5 for a signature in Halo Reach. I know some people don't charge to make sigs, but I've spent 150+ Hours in Halo 3 and Halo Reach Forge Mode practicing these signatures and getting good at them. [Over 100+ Hours in Reach alone]

e.g - If you want to play for an hour or two with a well-known pro gamer, they tend to charge for game-time; Unless you're another well-known player/pro. :: Same goes for me. I charge to make signatures for people, unless they are signature makers.

Any ideas?

No one on here is going to pay for forge sigs when someone else offers to do it for free, they have the monopoly on it since they charge less (or in this case no charge at all)

Who's bought a sig and payed for it?

You'd be surprised man. There aren't many people, but the people that do buy sigs understand our point of view. It's a waste of time to make signatures for free, in my opinion.

I kinda agree, but i don't see the need for them when people know how to photoshop, however i like your work

Thank you for your viewpoint. But photoshop signatures would have to stay on the computer. With Reach signatures you can always have it in your fileshare. I'm still debating on making them free.

I can transform a computer image that looks like this :: http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd496/icoma69/Breezysig.jpg

into a signature in Halo Reach that looks like this :: http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=17826035&player=C%200%20M%20A

You just have to be better than the people working for free, I can tell your stuff is good but I don't know enough about the guys who do free sigs to know if you are ahead of them. There are always newer people working for free, and once you get better and better you can start charging, then people have a choice between a mediocre sig for free and a good one for $5, because obviously if they can choose from 2 equal sig makers and one is for free they will probably pick that.

I like your ideas on charging for this which you are good at, but D Moralize said the comparison aspect well.

More examples of you work would help prove your point. In fact, I'm kind of considering it and I might hit you up in the future. The only this that was wierd is because this is on a forum, I, and I'm sure a few others, thought you were talking about forum signatures. But this is a cool idea too. Keep it up I hope you can get this idea off the ground.

According to Visualize Neon (#1 sig artist in my opinion) I'm in the Top 5 or Top 3 Best Reach Sig-Makers, and none of the Top 5 make signatures for free. But I see your point, and most people that make them for free are decent/amateur at best.

I don't understand the whole "halo sig" thing. You can make much better looking things using programs and such. Is the whole pitch of the idea the fact that it's made in halo? Because that seems a bit dumb >.>

It's made in Halo and it's meant to stay in Halo; Your fileshare. If you want a signature for TLN, you put it on TLN. If you want one for Halo, you place it in your fileshare. Simple as that.
