[Halo: Reach] Anaheim Pro Teams, Seeds and Discussion

warriors or sq arent getting top 5 at anaheim. they have been teaming for well over month. they are nowhere near the same level as instinct, bth, dynasty.

if anyone should be going to that lan, it would be either str8 or evil

theyve only had a week of practice together, with Walshy being at lan after lan they havent played as a team for more than a week. SQ and Warriors are definatly both top 5 contenders, Instinct will probly win and Dynasty will place high but personally I dont see any reason to think Evil will place top 5. Lethul and APG havent proved their teamwork together is good and Im waiting for Twin And Crimsix to show me something. I dont think we can predict their standing at this point. I personally dont think Kianeto will be Top 5 probably Top 10. However SQ is still a very dangerous team that could take a series from Dynasty and maybe a few games from Instinct. They are all veteran players at this point while 3/4 of Evil are still basically rookies.

Not a chance they got worked over at the Red Bull Lan in the first 2 days with all these new teams SQ might just get around 6th or 7th. They have got easiest pool by far but they will not beat instinct. They probably wont beat teams like str8 or evil

Ya I think that was an off day for Instinct, and I just don't think I Believe the Hype (teehee) about Evil, I think they'll be top 8 probably but I don't see Instinct dropping a series still, Dynasty is the biggest threat to them imo, and a practiced SQ and maybe a practiced Str8, and Kiaeneto if Ninja, Walsh, and BMan play to their potential because I watch Ninja's stream and they are pretty darn good, and Mikwen is a monster on LAN and online

Edit: Online does not equal LAN also, it's always said and sometimes teams are radically worse on LAN

okay this might be a really stupid question but how does the seeding work? I thought i was based completely on the combined pro points of the 4 players however The team under Warriors for instance has more pro points so im a bit confused. I heard CoD pros saying the seeds are based on the pro points before any team changes so the 1st seed could add someone with no pro points and not lose the top seed. Just clearing this up cause it seems like a rather stupid system. Thanks

I gotta disagree on a few, I dont think tD will get top12, I think SK and Hysteria are a little past their prime and adding Naded is just adding another has been player. I almost see SK retiring soon if he doesnt put together a stronger team. I also dont see FB getting Top 6, mainly because I think ToTz holds them back. In Columbus people were saying he played great but he was still negative for the tournament, I say they Top 10 at best. I also dont see Carbon getting Top 12, I persoanlly believe Turning Point is a better team and will place top 12 over them. I also think GHO57ayame and Soldier187 are just outclassed by the younger players. I see Walshy really stepping up
his game in Reach were some of the old Halo 2 pros are slacking to the new players. It was working out okay it was just Neighbor wasn't all there and he admitted to that. They were looking pretty solid when they went to nationals and ran into the BtH buzzsaw

When is the thing to fill your own bracket coming out?

Str8 needs to get practicing if their going to place top4 in anaheim. Haven't seen them on at all and I don't think they have been announced for any lans.

If str8 isn't practicing they will finish 4th in their pool. It's stacked beyond belief. Some teams haven't taken the Instinct model and figured out that practicing every day online and getting a LAN in will do wonders for your team come tournament time.

I like Elamite as a player but his theory of quality practice isn't going to cut it anymore I think. Why do you think Instinct fell off (for Instinct standards) after they won twice? Elamite stopped playing the amount he played going into Orlando '10. Elamite proved when he puts the practice in he wins because he had the most H3 victories with 7, but when he slowed down he didn't win.

So far this Str8 team has played maybe 10 games with eachother and the tournament is in 27 days. Goodluck to them with the pool they play in.

Im aboustley sick of this no one has recently str8 play apart from last month but how can u judge them if you have not seen them. If u all saw a film of them beating instinct you would all immediatly change ur predictions about them. Yes i know they havent practised as a team but they are still on indivdually and there is still time for them to practise as a team. You cannot say they wont place high when you have not seem them play against another team and get dominated or lose.

I have seen str8 play and scrim some teams and they lost most of them and im yes i might be sayin they aren't gonna place top 4 because they aren't practicing but also because i completely disagree with dropping Naded and ryanoob

I'm not counting Evil as a decent team until they do good on lan I was watching Ninja steam last night and Turning Point was scrimming Evil. All I have to say is the shot registration was terrible and I've played both APG and Lethul and both of them are warriors a smuch as I hate to say it, being a Lethul fan, but I don't think they will live up to any of their hype.

2 things.
1. Learn to take a joke. It was obviously sarcastic and just reversing what i said 2 posts previously. In reality this lan is pretty good but lets be realistic and look at the teams. At this lan you have 3 teams, 1. TD: Nuff said. 2. Victorious Secret: Dont perform well come tourney time. 3. Impulse: A Random AM team.

2.actually when i posted that I didnt even realize that you were the coach of that team. But, if we are going to dish insults then let me just say that your right, I'm not on a team. This is not due to lack of offers, but more of the desire to form an actual competitive team. I'm not going to throw out any names of the people I am running with because quite honestly I dont want you bashing on them. However, unlike my friends and I, we dont try to hop on teams through the coaching position, we all know what you did with the last team you "coached". But actually, im glad you realized that you will never make it as a player and gave up. It saves a lot of people's time b4 they realize that you blow at the game. So basically in essence, Hop off.

idk if this has been posted recently cause i didn't look at the last few pages, but i would like to know why str8 rippin hasn't really been practicing?? every other team has a HUGE advantage over them not only from playing and scrimming almost every night, but also getting much needed practice on the new gametypes. i know t2 and neighbor are team bonding in LA, but they definitely need to start practicing and getting everything down. if they don't start hitting it really hard like in the next couple of days, i don't see them placing top 8. they're in the pool of death, and BTH, Evil, and TD are playing every night. i think ryanoob and naded will both get sweet revenge.

Plus, they're gonna let down a lot of fans if they play like poop in anaheim.

It makes sense that TS games are close for Instinct, their strat is to sacrifice Og2 and LBX, except on arena maps where Og is a beast

Technically they got OLBR1 because MLG completely changed the rules on them during the tournament and didn't notify them. MLG switched who they were playing and the time that they played after they had left and so when they got to the venue the next day they were already DQ'd. CMG or Bert could give you a more complete answer, but let's leave Open Team discussion out of here since this is the Pro Teams Thread.

anaheim is only two weeks away. str8 has not practiced as team, and hardly at all individually, since before v5 was released. how could they possibly catch up to everyone else in such a short period of time? they can't, and they're definitely going to get raped at anaheim by everyone in their pool.
str8 scrimmed SQ last night, and got beat 7-1. 2 steaks and a couple of 5-0 flag games. pretty bad, but hopefully a wakeup call for str8.

When I think of Evil I see this team that has potential for top 2, but also they can bust and finish 7/8th. The Evil vs Instinct series' next weekend will give me the true indicator of where I think they stand in terms of winning the tournament.

I'd definitely be shocked if FB doesn't get top 8, with Totz covering objective, communication and being the ridiculously impressive selfless player he is, and with VicX who is in my opinion one of the best 5 players in Reach they should have it easy, even with FiS and Clouds inconsistent tendencies on Reach

I can only hope TP is that high, go Walshy

Evil, Dynasty, SQ and BtH could end up in any order as far as I can tell

I want to see the return of tD, then everyone can stop being absolute a-holes to SK despite the fact he's still a pretty talented player

Finally, if Instinct doesn't win I'll cry, don't know if they'll be undefeated but they have 2 of the top five players in the game and THE best two support players in the game

It seems to me like he suffers from the same thing that made me quit MLG Halo... and that is feeling intense pressure from your teammates to challenge, even when you aren't in a good position for it.

Man Instinct is still just leagues ahead of everyone else. Every other team looks like 2nd rate teams fighting over 2nd place, while Instinct is just this perfected domination force that has 1st place emblazened on thier chests.

Was great to see Walshy do well, nice to see his shot much improved.

This weekend was hard though, i enjoyed SC2 about 10 times as much as i did halo reach. The maps are so annoying, the matches are boring, are you kidding, CTF and Slayer are my only 2 choices? For crying out loud lets get some variation please. The players are a bunch of people that i really dont' care about so i'm not invested in the matches which probably is part of the problem.

I can totally see why SC2 took the mainstage. And honestly they deserve it. Once I said MLG needed to take a page out of Mr P's book and learn a lesson in streaming. Well Halo needs to take a page out of SC2's book and learn a lesson in creating an entertaining E sport.

Finally to end my rant. Str8 - Its called practice. You should be embarrassed.

Str8 is not surprising at all, but i think they will be prepared for next event. Evil's finish is pretty disappointing also, but it was either them or dynasty, so...
all in all, i think there might be a few team changes after this event, and they're gonna happen soon, since raleigh is so close. I think dynasty is gonna make a change, snipedown was pretty pissed at how many slayer games they lost. Perhaps a reuniting of APG with dynasty? that would be sick.

If you saw some of his gameplay when Reach came out, he was good for back then, and his first blog early on said he was almost back to H2 form, he was just underestimated after he was gone for a bit
