before i get trolled.. i think it would be a good social event.. if MR.P get 12-16 of the best sc2 pros that would bring in alot of views = money and getting more people intrested in reach hopefully aswell.

It's pretty tough when the majority of professional Starcraft players live on a different continent.

i would hope that he would have a TLN Fighting Game (MvC3/SSF4AE/MK9) Lan seeing as we all can bring the games and there are HUGE names that are in the TLNC and the Fighing Game Scene it would be easier than setting up all the PCs aswell.

Literally the only reason TLN was made, and is still up and running is because the one and only investor, founder, creator, owner, whatever, has a son who plays Halo professionally. He's a busy man and I doubt he has the time or resources to arrange that for virtually no profit (monetary or what not) for himself.

Gotta agree with dactyl, SC2's lack of LAN means that there is no benefit to them flying somewhere to play unless they are getting paid, so it would be hard to get them to even want to come and the wouldn't buy their own plane tickets, and Mr. P would have to invest in a bunch of computers. What sets halo apart is that LAN is different than online and building team chemistry is a huge part of the game, this is not the case in SC2

Its really hard to convince top SC2 pros to come to a smaller lan because it doesnt give them much better practice. SC2 does not have a lan feature (thus the connection issues at MLG's events) so being on lan doesnt provide much difference than playing online ladder or customs. With Halo for instance, your shots and nades hit better on lan, however, on SC2 there isnt a noticeable difference in your mouse accuracy. SC2 has minimal lag issues online so its kinda pointless to host smaller lans because you have direct access to more players through battle.net. Plus many of the major NA players are on teams such as ROOT, Liquid, or EG, teams who have houses that many of their players stay and practice at and have lan access 24/7.
Also TLN would have to invest heavily in gaming computers because they couldnt expect everyone to bring their own computer. It would cost them alot to startup with unknown success. With huge leagues like NASL, IGN, and GSL there wouldnt be to much market for TLN to squeeze into and overthrowing one of them would be nearly impossible.
I think a fighting game lan would be more realistic, even a CoD lan, however I think TLN will stick with Halo for now. Its a good idea, and Id defiantly watch, but very doubtful.

Kinda sad when someone post a thread on TLN and opens with "Before i get trolled." Lets go TLN community, we have to step our game up. This isn't MLG forums. We are a new breed of people. :D

Can't SC2 be played online flawlessly? No point in having a lan unless there is prize money.

Yeah SC2 has no LAN function. Plus this website is ran by the father of a Halo pro. Who is doing it because oh his love for Halo and his son. The site really is only made for Halo. They just made a SC2 section of the forum so those of us who do love the game didn't have to talk about it in the +1 thread anymore.

I like the idea of a SC Lan but we know for already stated reasons that it wont happen. However, possibly having TLN Tournaments might be a possibility. like a mini tournament similar to what they do now on Sundays. I don't know how beneficial this would be for the SC players but I think as spectators we would like that.
And the tournaments could be completely online as well.
