Will there be a LAN this event? There are only 35 days left until the event and I know PvJ is taking up like 3 weekends
I also find it extremely disappointing that people are taking PvJ more seriously than the event itself. LANs > PvJ.
I'm hoping for sQ, Instinct, BtH, Str8, Evil, and FB to be at the next LAN (if there is one)

Lol? PvJ is awesome you have no idea, make new friends, talk trash, and learn from the best, but most of all the community has some of the best time in their lives over at the Gaming House ... Give Mr. P some time and I am sure there will be a LAN coming up, there always is anyway.

1. RBLAN this weekend with SQ, Warriors and Kiaeneto.
2. Pros are streaming scrims constantly, and on TLN streams.
Honestly, I don't know why you are complaining.

That's too bad to hear. There is some good talent hidden within the "Joes" at the PvJ and you might just be surprised at what you see. You never know what you will see. For instance, Khaotic Snipe went to a PvJ and now he is teaming with Robbie B. I mean PvJ had a little to do with it other than the fact that they are neighbors and good friends. PvJ got him up to skill and helped him out. Consider PvJ a starting ground for AM players trying to make it in gaming.
I know when I place top 32 or top 16 or top 8, I will be giving a personal "thank you" to the Pennacchio family and the pros that helped me get there.
So in my honest opinion, I do not think you should be disappointed that PvJ takes up LAN's because the pros that attend PvJ have so much fun there and it helps them get LAN practice in too.

I rather see meaningful LANs than worthless xbl scrims.
PvJ does not give practice. You might as well play the mlg playlist.

We are all entitled to opinions guys, and while pvj's are great LAN's are what the site was founded on and are the most exciting thing when you are just spectating anyways.

solid chance we see FB, Instinct, Str8, and Dynasty attending with a couple more in there. sQ with the red bull LAN i don't see making it out very often

I like LAN's but I also like PvJ, so I'm cool with whatever goes down, I'll watch regardless.

I believe sQ has already talked to Mr P about this and I think they are going out to a TLN LAN sometime before Anaheim. The RBLAN is from now until Sunday so it really doesn't affect anything since there is no TLN this weekend. Just by looking at the calendar there will most likely be a four to six team LAN July 14-17 and another four to six team LAN July 21-24. This also ensures the teams will be set for Anaheim as roster lock is July 7th (according to forum lurking).

It does. Imagine a 5 team LAN. That's 25 hungry players/coaches you have to feed for ~4 days (Not including your own family). It isn't just the monetary cost involved either there is a huge amount of TIME involved in putting these together and running them. While premium memberships and advertisement revenue does help to offset the costs I don't believe it relieves a huge portion of the cost.

Once teams are finalized I believe Mr.P can get confirmation from players of who can attend and then he will able to let TLN community know.
Hopefully if there are two lans, that Instinct goes to both.

LAN is LAN. Always better than XBL. Getting LAN practice with the rest of your pro team is crucial for every pro

playing LAN is great, yeah, but without getting callouts and working on potential strategies and going against other opponents of the same caliber (not to discredit ANYONE who has been to a PvJ), the "benefits" or the "practice" a pro gets at a PvJ are extremely diminished. Having to coach and watch over and teach the other 3 players on their team probably detracts even more from the potential benefits.
And PvJ's are great for the 12 Joes that end up going, but as a spectator (of which this site has thousands) it is exponentially more exciting to watch 2 top teams go head to head in a full 11 game series, with all of the nail biting, edge of your seat action and 100% pro player POV's instead of random XBL warriors I've never heard of. Since this site has shifted to an ad-based revenue stream, and more viewers mean more ads are seen, and more money is made, if would be in good interest to go back to the more frequent LAN structure to get those views on a steady basis.
I for one have been thoroughly disappointed in TLN streams as of late. Lack of streaming has been a major gripe for me. They hardly ever seem to just stream people playing MM. Hell, I was happy just to see Bert playing but we don't even get that anymore. Speculation and rumors have pointed to Ninja leaving FB because Totz and FiS were never on and playing, and obviously not streaming, so clearly this reason is valid. 16 Xboxes, massive streaming equipment, a homebrew website to feature yourself, and an entire company built on your talents, and you decide to go off any do something else. I see TLN as the 9-5 job of the pros who are in close proximity or probably even live in the Gaming House. Streaming gameplay is putting a roof over their head and probably food in their mouths. I wish I could just disappear from my job for 3-4 weeks at a time and still get benefits.
Beyond that, the influx of pros streaming on JTV and the higher quality of their streams means there are a lot of competitors for a venture such as this and something needs to be done to stand out. PvJ is one of those things, and it is a fantastic idea, but you can't abandon your initial bread & butter all together in order to be different. Go back to your roots TLN.

Lans normally come after Roster Lock so that there is no Issues getting there and no team changes happen at a lan i believe

TLN always has a lan the weekend before an event. as for streaming, i've been pretty satisfied the past few weeks with Ninja, snipedown, heinz, bestman, legit, neighbor, and hysteria's JTV streams. there's at least one person streaming every night. i'm not paying to see anything on TLN anymore, so it doesn't really bother me that they don't stream, because so many other pros do, and they are really high quality. however, i do hope to see roybox, tsquared, and some other people in the future.

TLN does take hosting LAN's seriously. PvJ is about giving back to the community which is the shiznit.
Giving back to the community should be used lightly. The original cost wasnt exactly affordable.
