I'm in a thread making mood today...anybody watch Wimbledon? You guys might know that I am a big tennis guy so I have been watching passionately. If anybody else has been watching, lets talk about it! :)

Aran you have to be watching to root for Murray! He's my favorite player too.

Murray is only British when he is playing Wimbledon. Otherwise he is just a Scottish Guy.

But, its been alright. I have been in Sweden for most of it so far, only managed to catch the Murray vs Gasquet match. Was pretty cool.

I think Murray actually can beat the top guys. He has beaten them before, he is just going to have to really step up when he gets to the semis. He dismantled Gasquet yesterday, and he almost beat Djokovic on Clay at Madrid. Or was it Rome...? But the point is he gave Djokovic the best match out of all the matches on that winning streak and it was on clay, Murray's worst surface. He can beat Nadal and I hope he does it. I also hate Nadal with a passion...

lmao I do find it funny how people think he is from England. No, he's from Scotland...

Are you a fan of him?

Well of course, he is the best that the Brits have produced in a long while. I do however have the matches on the Radio while at work so i am catching up on everything.

As good as Murray is, he just chokes and gets nervous when it comes to Grand Slam finals. Every time he gets to them he is playing lights out tennis, and every time he loses in straight sets. If he were to somehow beat Nadal in the semis (although personally I think Mardy Fish is going to take it to Nadal and actually be in the semis) he would have to play either Federer or Djoker in the Finals, and beating Fed at Wimbledon is kind of tough haha. I'm a huge Fed fan, but I also love when Murray does well, so I'm hoping for a Federer/Murray final where Murray collects himself and plays well.

I just feel that he is playing different this tournament. I have read a lot of articles recently about him saying he believes that he can win this tournament, and I feel like his mindset is the most important thing. I think that Murray can go all the way here and I hope he does.

He has proved on different occasions that he does have the talent to take down people if he wants. It's just something about Wimbledon that makes it different. With the way he is playing based on yesterday he can take it. But At this point anyone can take it.

Its just if they have the mental stamina to be able to do it

I have been a Nadal fan since he was just starting out his rise to the top and I want to see one more good old Roger-Rafa matchup for the ages before Roger starts his decline, which may I add I don't think is right now because he has been playing some amazing tennis this year since it seems that the spotlight has moved away from him.

I was pulling for Andy at the Aussie finals and to watch him just choke up like he did the entire game against Djoker was brutal to watch. The way Nadal has played winning 5 of the last 6 slams I don't think that Andy has a shot at beating him.

Also how can Djoker claim number 1 if he makes the finals AND Nadal beats him there? That would give Nadal 6 out of 7 slams and he would be no2? makes no sense even with that amazing record Djoker has

I'm rooting for Fish on the men's side although more realistically I'm rooting for Fed
On the women's I'm rooting for Lisicke although more realistically I'm rooting for Sharapova

i love andy murray. he has been my favorite player for a few years. however its hard to watch him play sometimes. its hard to watch him sometimes struggle early on in tournaments with long 4-5 set matches that you know shouldnt happen between a 5th rank player and an unseeded player. and then when he makes it deep in tournaments he always seems to just get down on himself too much and get too frustrated. such a great player though.

its suppose to be on right now according to my tv... but theres some espn news show. fml

I can understand wanting to see one more Federer Nadal final, but honestly, Nadal just has his number. His game works so perfectly against Roger's. He's a lefty so his normal cross court forehand is going to Federer's backhand and with all the spin on it, it is impossible to handle with a one handed backhand. Nadal just owns him. I want to see Murray step it up. The poor guy had is every move journalized during Wimbledon because he is all the UK has.

I've been a Murray fan for a long time now and I want to see him break through. He clearly has the talent
