View Full Version : Sad day for all MLG Fans Past and Present :(

This paragraph is all from MR. GLOBALHD, that guy from youtube who posted all those MLG videos from past and present events, his videos will be missed.

The CEO of MLG, Sundance DiGiovanni, and his staff decided to flag all of those broadcasts. Please thank him through Twitter or the MLG forums.

I have never asked for anything while doing this hobby. It was a result for the passion of competitive gaming and Major League Gaming. This is a sad time for the MLG community, especially the Halo fans across the sea in Europe who depended on my uploading to enjoy their favorite teams.

I love all of you who supported me throughout this time ♥

What's next? Well... might need some time apart (weeks) until this scenario gets cool off. If you feel the need to unsubscribe, it's decision to do so :) However, I'm thinking of continuing uploading gameplays from your favorite pro players! Stay tuned!

"Don't ever do anything of out $$$, instead work hard from your heart and your passion and you will make the world a better place :) " - Global

BUT GUESS WHAT!? I KILLED JUSTIN BOSS NASIT SILVA!!! =0

@MLGSundance BOSS NASTI UPLOADS ALL MLG GAMEPLAY AS WELL.
@DerickTanglao That's gotta stop.
@MLGSundance then please delete all his videos, thankyou :)

Mr Global HD is being a real douche about this too. He's telling his subscribers to message Sundance with hate..? Grow up dude.

I understand there being a YouTube isn't the biggest deal but it gets MLG.tv and the MLG YouTube significantly less views.

Go find an episode of How I Met Your Mother on YouTube. Oh, you can't find one? That's because CBS removes them because it infringes their copyright.

If people want to watch MLG replays, use the MLG website. That's what it's there for.

true, true, but Global helped alot cause the MLG.tv barely works for anyone and youtube always works. And Global has old clips that MLG doesnt even have.

Then maybe instead of uploading them to a personal channel, he could have gotten in contact with MLG and tried to form a partnership or acquire a job with them. I don't know if he did try to or not, but it certainly doesn't seem like it.

did he have videos that MLG.tv didnt? like he had events from I believe 07 so he provided a service they werent, I dont really see the issue Sundance and MLG have with him, he doesnt have a partnership (and couldnt if he tried) and therefore was not making money off the videos. Sundance has always promoted the growth of eSports and today he kicked it back a level. Personally I think MLG should hire him for the job he was doing for them and the fans for free.

I personally support Sundance and his decision. I'm sure he isn't doing it out of spite or anything like that.

Personally I think he is just trying to draw viewers into their new MLG.tv that they're using. He is also trying to make HD streaming for events entirely free. MLG while a major company, really isn't rolling in money like Microsoft or anything. They're trying to implement new things on the site so that they can make other things better for us as players and spectators. Anything that's drawing attention away from the site while infringing on policies is well within their right to shutdown. MLG has their website undergoing some huge changes. I'm excited for them and think people should use it more often then they do (we certainly all know the forums don't draw attention there.) I don't think it was handled the best way possible but nothing rarely is these days. As for the Boss Nasti thing I mean he basically is doing the exact thing. He is infringing on policies same as anyone else. Just we only want him shutdown because he's an idiot, yet they're technically violating the same thing.

Also as for the guy who earlier in the thread stated that he only cares about money. If he was only in it for the money I bet he would get a different job. Also most of the money they make goes into things that make it all better for us. So just think a little before you blurt out a statement next time.

Bottom line is we don't know everything that goes with the decision behind it, but from past experiences I trust Sundance enough to know it's for a good reason.

Now you're just being ignorant.

Put yourself in Sundance's position. Would you care about how ALL the money you're making or making the community better? He cares about money and so does every person in charge of every top company unless it will change how the community looks at the company in bulk. Take PS3 as an example. Not only did they lose customers and money during the hack, but they also lost trust, which if they didn't fix it with an incentive then their community would be smaller, but they maintained most of their community because they gave away free stuff. Its not ignorance, its the truth.

I know that if a copyright holder does not defend against infringement they can lose their copyright. That is what leads to crazy big guy little guy stories like when epic games sued that kid for making a gow doll.

Because unlike Sony, MLG does it for esports and games. They don't give us all these feedback options and become friends with all the players because they want money. MLG is a big company and they need money to strive. They're not like Sony and Microsoft as previously stated in my post, where all they care about IS money. MLG is a big company, but it's no where near that level, they don't care about just making money.

Sony gave away free stuff because people lost email, password, and credit card info in the hack. They did it to not lose the paying customers. Not because they actually felt bad about it. Even in Japan PSN and most related products are banned currently. Sony product, banned in Japan. Please don't relate Sony to MLG and say how Sony is doing it the right way.

It's all hypocrisy anyway. If you can't do a better job then don't bitch (pardon my french) about it.

Antidote spoke what I was thinking as I read this thread, and I think should be commended for his rational thinking

I also don't get why everybody always gets on Sundance's case when something happens with MLG that they don't like, Sundance is the CEO but he doesn't make executive decisions on only his on input, there's a whole group of guys who offer every point of view and who's job it is to make sure he tries to do the best he can for the community, just look at his plea for community input on testing, I think he really wants to get the community involved and having a hand in what happens because he cares what we think. And honestly it's kinda rude to bash him and anybody who's complaining is absolutely biting the hand that feeds them, and it's sad.

Listen to Antidote and please stop blaming Sundance for everything that makes you unhappy with MLG.

From all of this i just hope that MLG decide to upgrade MLG.tv.

I am not sure what it is like for everyone else, but it is horrible to watch from the UK. So slow to load videos and very choppy video quality aswell.

So long Global, maybe when i get my Xbox repaired we will play some more halo together.

They're categorized and even a freaking search bar. If you can't figure out how to find something in their, it's not their fault.

There's a difference between being able to search through an archive and being able to click an event and do play all.

Its kind of a hard mix i think. One hand i fully support MLG, as all of us do since they made all of this possible. But there are things they could do better. It would be great to watch an entire weekend from start to finish without hunting through videos. More entertaining, more enjoyable.

But i also like how when MR P streams you can pick which pro you want to watch! And see multiple angles, etc etc. And i think MLG can learn from Mr P just like MLG could have probably learned from Global.

But all in all, Sundance has to do what he has to do. I do think that it would only improve thier company if they made past tourneys easy to watch. Think of newcomers being able to view a past tournament with ease. That might be the spark that gets them into MLG, just like watching a tourney on PuckShock's youtube channel got me into MLG.

Hard loss. But understandable.

Shame it had to go this way.
Loved Global's channel.
Hope Global comes back bigger and stronger.
Hope MLG.tv sorts itself out.
