Alright so I'm looking for a gaming laptop for 700 dollars or under. I was looking at these two:http://www.bjs.com/asus-156-notebook-pc-with-intel-core-i7-740qm-quad-core-processor-4gb-ddr3-640gb-hdd---dark-brown.product.195684

Which one would be better for gaming (Cod4 SCII TF2 etc.) or if you find any others for 700 or under please let me know.
Thanks for the help,

Does it need to be a Laptop? Because if you are looking for a gaming machine i would suggest a Desktop. They are better value and the GFX cards are less expensive and more powerful in a desktop machine.
But if you are looking for a 2nd opinion.

It has a better GFX card, and better RAM.
However the Processor and the Clock speed of the other Laptop is better. But if you want my opinion then i would suggest the one from Best Buy.
I would also suggest you have a look at this one aswell. Looks pretty good, although i have no idea if any of these are a good price because they seem very cheap compared to what we have in the UK.

Yea, Araneatrox basically said what I was going to say. If your dead set on their of those two the 2nd option is best. Its got a better processor and more RAM, kinda the obvious choice.
But if you really want to get into PC gaming I would suggest a desktop and a site such as http://www.cyberpowerpc.com because you can spec out a perfect PC for your needs. They build it and ship it out to you, just like buying one off the shelf but with thousands of options.

Most of the specific advice in this thread, about individual products or companies, is of low quality, fyi. Those laptops are trash and the pc site is pricy and flashy.
From a completely pragmatic and economical perspective, a $300 DESKTOP "Barebones Kit" from Tigerdirec.com alongside $100 GDDR5 Video Card AND a random(non-gaming) laptop for your needs-for under $300, would be the most advisable. If you think need the gaming laptop combination, know this. Good gaming laptops are expensive. If you cant afford a fully spec'd one, GTFO. Not worth getting a bargain "gaming" laptop to be ur main machine. Worst idea ever based on my exp.
I'll link you the "starter kit" with the main machine. You may want to buy a 450W (Corsair?) Power Supply for under $50 FYI as the one included is not nice.
Under that, I'll link you a GDDR5 1GB Card for all your gaming needs.

You should get a 21" LED monitor with a 1920x1080 resolution :)
For a screen and computer, thats 100 under budget minus the low end laptop I mentioned getting, if u need it for work or school or whatever. Not to mention its pretty high end for someone with a budget like you(at 400 its laughable how good it is)

I would not recondmend an HP tbh. I've had two of them, and their screens blacked out on me forcing me to attach a monitor. Also my sister's might be doing the same some time soon, because her screen is starting to flicker.

If you can raise your budget to $750, I have a great deal for you. Check out the ASUS A53SV-XN1 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230089) I just got mine yesterday as a belated graduation gift and I absolutely love it. Great brand with good support, plus it even has 1 year of Accidental Damage Warranty (drops, spills, surges, fires). For that price, you can't beat those specs. Core i5 2410M, NVIDIA GeForce 540M, 6GB DDR3 1333 RAM, 750GB 7200rpm HDD. Totally worth it. Take a look.

that HP has a superior graphics card, with 1 GB of video memory, and it has more ram than the ASUS. plus the blu-ray support is a nice addition. that HP is a great buy, but HP's quality is definitely not the best. I've seen, like waterboy said, screens go blank, motherboard failures, or horrendously short lasting batteries on multiple HP laptops and desktops. but who knows, you might get lucky.

Something I forgot to mention in my above post. Personally, I would avoid anything made by HP or Dell. Sure, together they own the majority of the laptop market, but they also have the highest component failure rates among all major manufacturers. Take a look at laptops made by ASUS, Lenovo, or Toshiba. They have the best built notebook computers with the highest reliability and best customer support.
