Saw that this morning. Seems like an interesting way to counter DotA 2's announcement.

I still dont understand LoL. Seems like its SC2 but not as much work. If that is the case then why hasnt MLG upped the purse for it since its the worlds most popular PC game and has the most tournys?

Because one of the only things that does beat it out in the PC gaming world is SC2. Nothing comes close.

Also comparing SC2 to LoL would be like comparing Halo to Street Fighter. The only thing they have in common is you beat the crap out of the other player to win.

Perhaps because LoL doesn't have the most tournaments of any game. Sc2 still has that title.

So far the only LoL tournament that has generated any sort of interest is the Season 1 that concluded while i was at Dreamhack.

sc2 doesn't really have much competition, lots of people love it and there's very few pure RTS at the same calibre

LoL has to put up big money to bring people to play their game because they're competing with HoN and DotA2 for players' attention and money
