How bout 343 and their ZB title update! [Archive]

Didn't want general discussion to get all the comeback love :P. lol

Since the forum went down a lot has happened in Halo Reach. While it is unfortunate that zero bloom never got added to the 2011 MLG circuit, it is obvious that this amongst other changes will be in store for the 2012 season. I think 343 has really knocked it out of the park as showing they recognize the MLG and competitive community with their updates and upcoming map packs that will come with Halo Anniversary. This all bodes well for Halo 4, and the future looks bright for Halo once again IMO.

I'm excited for next year.
I'm not upset about it not being in this season, mostly because the settings are nowhere near where they need to be.

It wouldn't have made sense to change to zero bloom before Orlando, there wouldn't have been enough time to learn the game all over again, change the settings, or whatever else needed to happen... and changing to ZB after the whole season was played with bloom, just in time for nationals would have made teams rage I think.

I believe ZB will completely change the list of top players, some names will stay high on the list, sure, but some people will fall and be consistently on the bottom of the top 16 from then on, if even that high. I honestly can't wait.

had a quick question for the v6 settings on the mlg playlist is regular bloom or 85% bloom?

All games are regular bloom if I'm correct, even v6. The only ones with 85 and ZB are in the TU Beta.

well i feel strongly that MLG will keep Bloom in but im still voting that we can get it in a testing stage.

Have you tried the "gold" settings? They're not mlg official or anything but it is honestly the best reach experience I've had since it came out... zero bloom, 4sk, pistol not op, no Aa's, increased speed and jump... not h3 speed or anything, but damn it feels good to play...

no i have yet to play it. i have played Little Reach after TLN went down and focused on Fighting Games only stoping to Try out ZB but now i wanna play Gold really bad. is it under like MLG gametypes or KCs?

I don't know where the gametypes are, a friend of mine had them, and he found the links on mlg forums ... ill try to find links when I'm near a pc again... on my phone now...

I still have torn feelings on zb...let me first day that I believe zb is much better than what we have now..I'm not surprised MLG hasent changed for providence. It's just too late in the season to make such a big change. What I'm annoyed with is the fact that reach has the ability to be such an awesome game...but it still kinda sucks because it's the settings are still not right. Not only that, there are only a few decent maps.

That's why when ppl say h4 is gonna be awesome, I stay skeptical. 343 can make an awesome game with crappy settings and maps and we will be exactly where we are at now...

At least it appears 343, for the most part, understand that Halo has become a major competitive title and are attempting to resolve some of the problems Bungie left behind or neglected for so many years. They are listening to the community... not just the tryhards and MLG hopefulls, but also the casual side of the fence as well. They understand that both sides make valid points. (and lets be honest here) Casual gamers buy games, they generate revenue in large quantities. The competitive community really does make up a very very small market share, but account for 70+% of the in-game-hours (some speculation on my part there, but you get the idea) Pleasing both groups is going to be vital to making a successful title, and ensuring repeat customers and sequels, etc.
