Heard about this. Found it very interesting that such an act could exist.

I read it. I think their on drugs. Also, I don't think this passes the President. Not if he's even "THINKING" about running again. The wording isn't explicit, but the vagueness of the definition of "Covered Persons" under the law, and the fact that they are calling American soil a "battlefield" is a little disturbing.
Here's (http://thomas.loc.gov/home/thomas.php) a link to where you can read these things for yourselves if you ever want proof.
The actual bill is S.1867. Here (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?c112:2:./temp/~c112sS6qYW:e548990:) is the section in question. It's the first part that everyone is worried about.
This video is WAY overdone.

It's scary that they voted on this provision in the Senate, just this provision specifically, and it passed 55-45. 55 Senators were asked if the President of the United States should be allowed to deem a fellow citizen, while inside our nation's borders, a national security threat and a terrorist, and if POTUS should make that designation, that citizen will be detained indefinitely, in military custody, with all rights suspended. The fact that 55 people could read that and say yes blows my mind.
Also the President has already claimed he will veto this bill. But considering it passed 93-7 the first time, I think they'll be able to overcome the veto. It will come down to Supreme Court, and hopefully they will recognize this law as unconstitutional.

my criminal justice teacher and I had a discussion on this bill yesterday, he told me the president was going to veto it for 100% but since that happens and the bill also has financial things in it the Department of Defense doesn't get any money until a version of the bill is passed.
