Will there be Pros vs. Joes LANs in the future? Or is it to early to start thinking about those kind of things?

When do you think the first LAN will be?

Hopefully an announcement as to whether Halo is on the MLG circuit comes out before February 1st, however I'll pose three questions to Rick regarding the possible outcomes.

If Halo is on the circuit:

Rick, we are all delighted Halo has been afforded another year at MLG. However are you not worried about the longevity of Halo? seems a rather unstable time to make an investment such as you did. Everyone's eyes seem to be firmly fixed in the future and the release of Halo 4.
Although being afforded another year within MLG's circuit is fantastic; do you not think they will be somewhat dubious, picking up a title (Halo 4) so soon after it has changed studios? If so what are your long term goals?

If Halo isn't on the circuit:

Obviously we are all devastated Halo isn't making a return to MLG this year, but what is the plan from here? Will you continue to support the community and innovate new ways to reinvigorate the scene? Or is it a possibility you will look at other titles, maybe carry the same titles as MLG and formulate a more exclusive relationship with MLG? Or a little of both?

If the the outcome of Halo isn't decided:

In years gone by the outcome of Halo has never been a question within MLG. It had always been the leading title and never had there been a question as to it's popularity. Firstly, why do you think MLG are taking so long to release details? Is it possible they are delaying the inevitable community uproar regarding it being dropped? Or is it a marketing ploy to re-engage the community?
Do they not however have a duty to the pro players and there stability? After-all a fair degree of pros rely on this for income!

A few other questions.

To Rick:

I'm sure all of us are glad to see TheLanNetwork find a new home, and evidently it seems a select group of pros are as well. How do plan to do what is best for TLN and it's sustained growth? As although I hope people aren't as tainted as this but; is it not possible people could corrupt your view as to how TLN should be run, under misplaced trust in an effort to look out for their personal well-being?

To Mr. P:

Mr. P, I am extremely grateful for the things you have done for this community and by passing the torch to Rick as it were. In an effort to enlighten Rick; If you could go back and recount one or possibly more things that you would do differently if any, what would they be?

To both Rick and Mr. P:

I feel that if Halo is to survive as a competitive title, it will be by the communities doing. I try to almost always like and favourite any Halo related content put out on YouTube, as well as re-tweeting any of the faces within competitive Halo's tweets that I feel needs more exposure, I urge everyone to do the same.

However if you could both ask the community to do one thing of the utmost importance, what would it be for Halo's sake?

To Rick:

What are your plans to generate more exposure for Halo? As unless you plan on switching to other titles the success of Halo as a whole directly influences you. One aspect where I think the community are in dire need of help is YouTube. Call of Duty has yet to make a big splash in competitive play however the game is immensely popular, and in my opinion that is in no small part because of the interest generated by masses of content producers on YouTube.

Although as I said it has yet to make a big splash within competitive gaming, it seems to be more enticing to a competitive scene such as MLG, as it has this vast community to tap into. Have you any thoughts as to places you could generate exposure and great content? Machinima? YouTube? I think a smash up of a weekends competitive play would make a great video within an organisation like Machinima!

Also to Rick:

What are your thoughts on SOPA and PIPA, although the initial pressure of the bill seems to have died down due to the mass blackouts on Jan 18, are you worried about them being passed? Without proper permission from Microsoft/343inc this bills could directly effect you and the organisation, how would you tackle it if it were to pass?

Again to Rick:

Obviously groundwork has been laid here at TheLanNetwork, however many thought with Mr. P's departure this would spell the end of TheLanNetwork, consequently many people will have left and many may not know it is under new management. How will you tackle regaining old members and acquiring new ones?

Blooming Heck, To Rick Again!

With the uncertainty as to whether Halo would be on the circuit this year, it sparked a decent amount of community engagement and one by one websites, content and podcasts started popping up out of the ground. However the phrase "Big fish in a small pond" comes to mind, have you given any thought how to influence the integration of these communities into "Small fish in a big pond" for the sake of growth? Or would you prefer it stayed the same?

I would like to iterate: I do not believe the success or failure of Halo's growth rests on Rick's shoulders, only whether it is something he's given thought to.

I was going to try and be mindful that others may want to ask questions, however I wasn't seeing much activity and just kept coming up with them. At least this way I know they should get answered.

If I could ask Ninja questions as well; it would definitely put me into the realms of a glory hog...

With the new acquisition is there any plan to bring new blood into the website?

it seems we have had the same core of people visiting and posting since the inception.

I remember you asking about where we would like to see more TLN houses at. You plan on expanding TLN and make it more then one house? If so, MAKE ONE IN ORLANDO. <3.

Will there be a point in time where amateur, and starting competitive gamers be allowed to attend LANs, in form of things like Pros vs Joes or even an Amateur LAN?

Really looking forward to the first streams from the new TLN. We all want success for TLN and pro halo.

Rick what is your plan if TLN begins to lose money? Let's say zero profit is being generated but costs are being met. How long can you go before you pull the plug?

Didn't read all these questions so i'm just going to ask this one.
To Mr.P, will you be involved with the new TLN? If so is it just for the start up of the new TLN or will it be more like a partnership? If no I'm will be sad to see you go.

I just want to thank both of them. Mr. P for introducing me to the world of behind the scene pro player practices, and allowing me a chance to write for the site. I would like to thank Rick for reopening the site and the house and both o them for helping grow both my love, and the overall promotion of eSports. I will never forget or take either of them for granted.
