TLN Live Broadcasts on Wednesdays at 7pm EST.

Episode 1:

Mr. P (Former TLN CEO) and Rick Barretto (Current TLN CEO) join our two hosts Rob Frayer (TLN COO) and Tyler "Ninja" Blevins (Halo Pro) along with Totz (Halo Pro) for some Q&A from the community on the future of TLN.

Guests and Hosts answered many of the questions on our minds regarding the future of TLN. We learnt that TLN will stay true to its core for the most part. Any changes will be progression of existing formatting whether that be LANs, the forums, fantasy and membership, along with the addition of merchandising.

One thing that was evident was expansion and exposure, not necessarily location expansion but the possibility of game expansion. However Rick was very adamant that his plans are to listen to the community to better understand the wants and needs of community members. As well as plans to work together with existing organisations within Esports [namely MLG] to further the league and generate a more stable environment for Pro's and up and comers.

All in all a good first episode, this thread is mainly for feedback and suggestions in the hopes to progress the show and give it more fluidity.

One thing I will say is I felt I was always waiting for the next question and it felt a little rushed.
This may not be true for everyone but along with information I enjoy a casual atmosphere and banter, because for the most part I can find out information on the topics elsewhere. We've got to connect to the Hosts.

With first show jitters and all, it went extremely smoothly. Well done!

It used to be broadcast on Justin.tv/tlnetp1/2/3/4. The chat is still hosted from there but as where to find VoD I'm unsure.

Rick encouraged feedback though and said to contact him on: [email protected] [if I've remembered that correctly].

Atm, we dont use twitch's streaming service. We've created our own stream service. VOD should be up within 24 hours.
Anyways, it was a little jittery with Rob's first on camera appearance so it will get better! Thanks to everyone who tuned it!

It was a good show.

I enjoyed the talks. I am really hoping that the new owner will do more with the community.

I think that it would be cool if we had someone from the community to be on the show as well. Like maybe continue to do the alias of the month and have them be a special guest on the show.

Thats a pretty cool idea. Send me an email and we can discuss this.

With it being Alias of the Month would it be an appearance per month, or are you suggesting making it a weekly affair? Thus making it Alias of the Week.

Will someone please email me and explain how Alias of the Month is decided?

I can tell you right here, it was based off of the previous winner selecting the next winner.

Which can be prone to some shadiness. I propose we do it the most logical way, content producers, moderators and admin vote for the member who should get it, who ever ends up with the most votes wins.

MLGHammertime
02-02-2012, 04:11 PM
Thats it? No requirements or anything? Just one person choosing another?

Also then how was the original winner chosen.

MrChaosTheory

Couldn't tell you, I presume it probably came about because of an expectational member and then that initiated Alias of the Month.

I said it can be prone to shadiness, luckily the forum members who won weren't that way inclined.

I think this idea. Didnt see this on my last post.
I think it would be smart to change the way it's done but I think it title and contest needs to stay.
What were some of the rewards for AotM?

It says at the bottom:

2 months free premium access
LAN Laminate form previous LAN [although I think that never happened]
Unlisted, Alias of the Month badge under their name.

Gotcha. I think we will have to change those up a little. Dont hesitate to email me with any other ideas you may have.

The LAN laminate thing did happen because I won one from the fantasy. Back with the Instinct vs Final Boss LAN with T2 on Instinct right before the "God Squad" Instinct emerged. So it's pretty cool I got both teams before they merged.

Hammertime, thanks again for putting an effort in from the community. You may be newer but you're trying to fix/make stuff even better than before. Really appreciate it. :P

I think it would be cool to have someone no from the community to talk about how Halo is doing in their state. Kind of like a State of the Game thing but each state. Kind of like if anything big is happening around their state of not to get the word out and possible help the community in that state.

I know that here in Colorado me and another guy are holding LAN's on a weekly basis to help revive the Halo community here. Like say for instance I was brought on the show, not saying I will be, I could talk about the LAN's, state of our community, and some key players in the state. I would also talk about how I am moving in with 3 other Halo players this summer and going to set a stream up and stream every day and the other LAN holder is rooming with his team this summer also and basically doing the same thing.

I think you're misinterpreting the word "State" in that title. That and the problem with Halo content as it stands is that it needs more known people from the community.

My pleasure. Just trying to get this place to a fraction of its former glory.

I think this is a little too complicated. The probability of people knowing how Halo is doing in their state is slim to none. They may know how its doing in their school or something along those lines but but not to the extent you do. Also, as Antidote explain, the word state in the "SotG" is not meant to be like a state within the US. Not to mention, that their guests are all over the world.

People that play in LAN's and talk to people around their state, a lot of competitive players, should know how Halo is doing around them.

It was also just a suggestion for having community members on the show. I could probably make it less confusing and easier to have on the show. I just threw something out there.

I meant the SotG to be how the game is doing in the community but in the community members state. The SotG wasn't mean to mean the actual state.

From what I've seen they never talk about how SC2 is doing in their state... Except for Artosis in Korea.

oCuda

no like this would be a different take on it. It wouldn't be the exact same as the actual SotG.

instead of having it per state you could have people on that are trying to revive the Halo community and help it grow.

Didn't get a chance to see it last week but I'm tuning in tonight (I hope) and will leave some feedback afterwords. Either way I'm sure it'll be great and I can't wait to see what you guys have in store.
