TOURNAMENT PLAY BEGINS: Friday 3/2/2012 at 9:30 P.M. EST
Registration may be extend and date pushed back based on turnout

Teams: 64 (128 if more than 64 join)
Entry Fee: $40 per team
Type: Single Elimination
Mapset: Current MLG Mapset will be used
Gametypes: Current MLG gametypes will be used
*Anyone with pro status or currently on a top 16 seeded team may not participate.


Prizes:
1st place: $250 and an invitation to a TLN PRO LAN in 2012
2nd place: $120 and a gun stylus from PlowDigital
3rd place: $80 and a gun stylus from PlowDigital
*Monetary prizes are subject to change with out notice based on turnout.
*Numbers above are computed by final number of teams (20) enrolled.


Rules:

Teams have 15 minutes to show up to their match from the scheduled time. You will forfeit the first map after 5 minutes, and will forfeit the entire match after 15.
To setup a match, the players hosting the match must download the Official MLG Gametypes from Bungie. Once downloaded, the default settings cannot be altered.
The higher seeded team will host the first map, and the lower seeded team will host the second and third(if needed).
The higher seeded team will always be red, and the lower seeded team will always be blue.
If a player/host disconnects during the initial launch of a map, the map will be restarted. The initial launch is defined as within the first 30 seconds or before the first kill. If both teams disagree over when the disconnection took place, theater mode will be used to settle the dispute.
If a player disconnects outside of the initial launch, the player may be re-invited.
If any map results in a tie, the map will be replayed completely.
One person per console. Anyone caught using split-screen will automatically forfeit.
All players must play as a spartan.
Teams are limited to 4 players on the roster.
Winning team will be invited to a TLN Pro LAN with available spots, not necessarily the next LAN
If not enough entries are received and tournament does not take place your credit cards will NOT be charged. Credit cards only charged first day of tournament once it begins.

*Anyone caught cheating in any way will be automatically forfeited the match, and banned from all TLN sites. Cheating includes but is not limited to the following: Changing gametypes, changing settings, network tampering, account recovering, and using any type of glitch.


Reporting Matches:
To report a match, the team captain must send the bungie.net links of all games to [email protected].
When supplying links, please use the following format (If you do not follow this format, you will not receive assistance.)

I want to make something clear, because it appears that some people may have some confusion.
When we state that the winner will receive an invitation to the first pro LAN of 2012, we mean just that.
It is just an invitation, your travel will not be paid for you. You will stay in the LAN house but you are on your own getting here.

Not a big deal for west coast people but with say a 64-team bracket, you're looking at around 6 rounds of gameplay and granted its going to take approximately 45minutes-1hour for every round to get everyone settled in party for their matches, play it through, report it, etc.. This will leave East coast people playing until like 3am. If it were a little earlier, like 6-7 Est, it would probably be a little better. Just a suggestion! :-)

I know who you are lol. The reason it starts late is because thats when I get off work. We will go from 9:30-12 on Friday and continue on Saturday when I dont work. I'll update the OP to reflect that.

This is correct. The AM team will win the prize listed above along with the invite to the LAN. As with the 5 pro teams, the winner of the tournament will have to pay their travel costs to TLN.

As of right now, yes. You won't be charged until the day of the tournament, so if not enough teams sign up no one will be charged. But honestly for all the talk of people wanting something like this only having 8 teams sign up so far is just indicative of the Halo community. I really hope there are enough teams to run this, seems odd that only 8 teams would want to get the chance to come out to a future pro LAN...

I asked this one earlier with no reply as well on page 5... The current down loadable maps and game types from the MLG Gametypes tag on Bungie are V6 only. They have a Sprint start and all have Bloom. The current playlist that is live has games with Zero Bloom and no Sprint start. What are we playing with when and if this tournament goes off?

What happens when the 29th rolls up and there are only 16 teams? Will it get extended again or can we play?

Can you fix my tag on the team list please? Just delete the "i" after the 7.

Check your email in a couple minutes :) Bracket page is linked in the 3rd post of this thread, but is currently not viewable by non-Admins. All gametypes are also listed in the 3rd post. I've notified Rick and asked him to make it show up for everyone. Captains will be getting a couple emails, one directly from me, and one when I put your email into the bracket which should auto-notify you who you will be playing.

Should have everything squared away, I don't believe there will be any more late entries allowed.

Bracket seeding was based upon order of signup. This may change for future tournaments. Teams 1 through 11 will start in Round 2 due to this along with there being 21 teams. Brackets only come out even when there are 2^x teams (where x is a positive integer) and 21 teams mean 10 teams have to play an extra round.
