View Full Version : Getting back into IT.
This is one of my many flaws and that is loosing interest into something I use to love. I have no interest in Halo Reach (or Halo 3 in that matter) and don't even play it as much as I would have hoped. Whenever I get into a game (take MW2 for example) - I play it nonstop and find every way to get better. Like watching gameplay of pros and even searching for the newest tips and tricks. I just FORCE myself to play reach so I would at least have a rank of some sort. I hardly ever play matchmaking. I just wish there was a spark that could get me back into it. I do blame Bungie for making such a "doesn'ttakeskill" game. However: I see most of the members here at TLN love Reach, and frankly I want to too.
Has anyone else felt this way? and know how I can get back into it. Have any great Reach montages that came out?
**I didn't even watch the last LAN because of this.

I don't know man it seems like you just refuse to like Reach. If you truly can't seem to get into it then I guess Halo is done for you. I hope you find your spark with the game and come back to the community. ( I can understand not liking regular matchmaking but you don't like the MLG Gametypes either? )

I kinda feel the same way. Like I'm really excited to have Reach. Yet when I turn it on if I don't have people to run customs with that I'm in the mood for, then I really don't know what to do. I dislike all the playlist and the customs I have to be in the mood for. I'm really hoping once MLG gets a good hold on this game that it puts a spark in me to play this game again.

I dislike everything about it really. I hate the maps, and even if MLG forge great maps. It's still not the same seeing the same scenery every game. and the same ol' gray colors. The only thing I actually like is the commendations which gives you stuff to accomplish on your way to getting your rank. Everything else is just trash.

I wouldn't say that I love Reach, but It is very good when you compare the two. I also like the Armory and how it will take a LONG time to get the highest rank. In halo 3, you could get the max rank in 20 something games with a booster.
But it will be odd in a couple years when you see some legit 20's having Inheritor, lol.

If it's not what you're into, then it's not what you're into Shy. We love having you around TLN, but don't fall into that "nothing makes me happy, and I'm bored out of my mind" phase. If you need to find a new hobby, then go for it man. Just make sure to keep your smiling avatar around the forums.

Forefront comin in with the best advice so far. I notice you said when the game first comes out you dive completely into it and go all out for awhile then after awhile get bored. The fire that burns the hottest always burns out the fastest. Maybe if you were a little more even keal about it, you would still enjoy it.
But I do agree with you on the maps, I really enjoy playing the game but the same blue and grey colors regardless of the design does get a little old.
Yea so there's nothing wrong with you if you're not THAT into it. I just enjoy playing Reach as a way to kill time when i'm bored and nothings on TV. Not really to hardcore into it but I still enjoy the community and talking to everyone about it so make sure you stick around the forums cause I know you're an active member and enjoy reading your posts! :)

You could achieve the highest level quickly in Halo 3. However: You could do that in different playlist. It gave you something difficult to accomplish, like actually have good teamwork rather than being a stat whore to get the most credits. I for one, never got a 50 in EVERY playlist, which was my goal. I also RARELY ever lost to anyone who first bought the game (I can't tell you an account I had less than 80-90% winning - even when I was first starting out).

I do have a lot of other hobbies. Hopefully this will be one sometime in the future. I know SOMETHING will happen that will get me back into it. It's just a matter of time. Maybe Bungie will remake 5 maps from Halo 3? WHO KNOWS.

I do play it daily for about an hour. Just to kill time as you said, and maybe get some daily challenges. Just not as much as I would want too. That's what I hate about TLN, the community is so great... I can't JUST LEAVE.
Thanks for all the advice, it's giving more of a motivation to get back into it and a sign of relief if I don't.
