I'm sure there are a lot of people on here that love movies and enjoy talking about them and this a place for that. You can talk about anything movie related including new releases, thoughts on classics, thoughts on actors, directors and writers. I've been on the thread on the MLG forums quite a bit and I will put a link to that one as well.

I don't watch a lot of movies but I recently saw American Psycho for the first time and it was so freakin awesome. I never thought murder could have such elegance. I recommend it.

American Psycho is awesome.

The Dollars Trilogy and the original Star Wars trilogy are excellent. Inception is probably my favorite movie this year, but Machete is on it's way.

I'm going to check out The Dollars trilogy, I never heard of it. Star Wars is fun to watch but I always fall asleep somewhere, I've only finished episode 4 lol. I haven't seen Inception but then again I don't go to the theater much.

You guys are probably going to chisel me into a movie buff. I'm interested in what people recommend and will most likely watch when I have time.

If you watch the Dollars trilogy I'd watch them in order. A Fistfull of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More, and then The Good the Bad and the Ugly. They are all awesome, but my favorite is A Few Dollars More. The soundtrack for the Good is legendary.

You haven't seen empire? You must watch it.

Here is 3 movies that usually fly under the radar.
Wristcutters: A Love Story (This is characterized as a drama/fantasy/romance film by IMDB and is probably my favorite movie of all time. It is about people who commit suicide but when they do they go to a place that is just like their old life only slightly worse)
Hard Candy: This movie is about a 14 year old played by Ellen Page, the girl from Juno and Inception, who tortures an older man who she believes is a sexual predator played by Patrick Wilson, Nite Owl II from Watchmen.
Brick: This is a close second for my favorite movie of all time. It is about a high school kid who tries to solve the murder of his girlfriend. It stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, he plays Arthur in Inception Leonardo DiCaprio's partner.

Edit: I enjoy Star Wars as well if my name doesn't give that away.

I really enjoyed Brick and if you are at all a fan of Joseph Gordon-Levitt I just saw The Look-Out which was pretty decent. Also I'd say if you haven't seen (500) Days of Summer you probably should.

Any of the Pixar animated movies.... I don't find them boring at all, and I'm 20 years old. Up is really good, or you can go with some new millennium classics like Shrek, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, or Robots.

Also, anyone seen Scott Pilgrim yet? Have been hearing mixed reviews on it but it sounds really good.

I'm kind of a Pixar fanboy lol. I could never sit down and a enjoy a Dreamworks film for some reason. But yeah, you cant go wrong with a Pixar movie.

Up was awesome. Pixar never disappoints (I live in a world without Cars).

Saw Memento recently, great film even though it has a huge plot hole.

I didn't read the whole thread, but if no one has said them:

Comedy: Monty Python: Meaning of Life
Action: Die Hard
Cartoon: The Incredibles

I love old Kung Fu movies. If you haven't ever watched any, try
The Drunken Master - Jackie Chan - 1978
The Shaolin Temple - Jet Li - 1982
The Prodigal Son - Yuen Biao - 1981
36th Chamber of Shaolin - Chia Hui Liu - 1978 (Really recommend this)

Also check out Ip Man(2008) starring Donnie Yen. It's a dramatized biography of the life of Bruce Lee's teacher Yip Man. Lot of kick-ass fight scenes.

I just rewatched Terminator 2 and still think it is one of the most overrated movies in history. It makes the entire series fall apart with it's time travel plot holes. I'm sure other time travel movies like Back to The Future have plot holes but I was entertained and not thinking about it. With T2 I was kind of bored and felt like I was pretty much watching the first movie with a more annoying person being protected.

SPOILERS
If you think about it in the first film two people were sent back Kyle Reece to protect Sarah Connor and the Terminator. Kyle Reece was not as strong as the Terminator but succeeded in his mission ultimately at the cost of his life. In T2 you have the first Terminator sent back to protect John Connor and a stronger Terminator sent to kill him. Arnold is not as strong as the new Terminator but is able to succeed in his mission of protecting John Connor at the cost of his own life.

It boils down to: person needs protection. two people are sent back in time, one to protect and one to kill. the one to protect succeeds but at the cost of his life.

Seriously, if you have time aratio, I really suggest that Ip Man movie. If you like Jet Li stuff like Hero, and Fearless, you'll friggin love this one.

Or download something like Sherlock Holmes, or one of my favorite comedies is Swingers (1996).

People are telling me that the Social Network is one of the top 5 movies of the year. Has anyone seen it? I've been kind of hesitant to see it even though I think it looks pretty good.

I watched both of those. loved Ip Man and Sherlock Holmes was pretty good. was surprised too. I was a fan of the books and I heard negative things about it from others who did the same. It wasn't the case with me.

Also, Dexter S5 is starting to pick up.

I watched The Social Network on Friday night. I liked it, it was interesting. I wish I could be at the right place and right time so I could settle out of court for $65 mil on an idea I had almost nothing to do with. I also watched Machete. Not that great but it had its parts.

I just watched a doc on Hulu, Exit Through The Gift Shop. Started off good but I ended up raging at the French guy. An over night celebrity street artist. Puts a bad taste in my mouth man. When he talks about his art you can tell how meaningless the art he makes is, you can see right through him. And he made so much ca$h off it, makes me RAGE. I would have been happier if he learned to use windows movie maker or suttin so he could make properly edited videos of the real shit. The real shit that is decomposing on hundreds of tapes he never goes back to look at. That doc made me rage. :/
