One of the best articles I've read. I concur. Respect.

if Halo 3 was Fidel Castro, Halo Reach is Che Guevara

Best line of the entire piece XD

And i have to admit, that was one of the best ones ive seen so far. Nicely done Martyr

Awesome article man, although I hate to even see Halo and Castro or Che in the same sentence. That's gross. On another note people complain about every game, they complained about 2, and they are vastly complaining about Reach, nearly as much as 3. Haters gonna hate.

I personally had no complaints about halo 3. i thought the BR spread was awesome, and liked having to lead my shots. I think the DMR is really inaccurate; i feel like the bullet doesn't always hit in the center of the reticule even if the bloom is reset, and spamming is way too effective. if only bungie had just lowered the fire rate and trashed the idea of bloom..... I do think that MLG's settings and gametypes will make reach a more enjoyable game to play. right now arena is only about camping with invis sniper and armor lock. so gay.

Good article. Reach has lots of issues, but it's still a step up from Halo 3.

Touchy subject. I was imagining the response making you into your name. You did a great job though. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks a lot guys, it's always fun to get feedback. I enjoy writing and for the most part I try to stick to what works for me and my convictions, but it's always nice to have positive feedback and knowing you're at least in some small way headed in the write direction. I'll be sure to keep them coming.

I really like this article after reading throughout several forums of people complaining about Reach so far. This article is a great read.

I am going to miss Halo 3, it's the first Halo game I have ever watched and it has been a lot of fun. I only hope that Reach will be a great game to watch !!

Great article, I have never really been into gaming, but Halo CE sparked my interest, and Halo 2 made me late for school/work. I fell in love with H2 online gaming I must admit. I would drool to Walshys' claw, Ghandis' hop, Ogre 1 and 2 sick snipes, StrongSide capability to stay alive against 3 players ect ect.

I did have a hard time at first adjusting to H3, but I felt it would still be great game to watch competitively as my brother and I always have. We have watched MLG streaming religiously since then and am EXTREMELY THANKFUL for TLN Lans. I do feel that i have somewhat lost a bit of interest in Reaches' competitive play. I know it's a bit to early to judge, but i felt that the transition from H2 to H3 was a bit easier to adapt than H3 to Reach.

Im not a fan of the DMR or Bloom or AA tbh, but that's just my opinion. I'll give Reach a chance, but must admit I'm finding myself going back to H3. Which btw is ok, because lately I've been match up with Snip3down, Cpt. Anarchy. Tizoxic (in spite of getting domed twice in his tage lol) Gilkey and even Suddoth 1 whom is sooo loved by the community lol...

But Lets just see what happens next year. I almost feel like Kate at the end of Titanic telling Jack " I'll never let go " I feel ya Kate!..... " I never let go H3 " :)

People say the DMR has adds a larger skill gap because you have to time your shots, especially at long range. In Halo 3, you had to lead your shots but you could just mash the trigger. Although I do think the NR is more acurate than the DMR.

I don't think it's right to say we didn't like Halo 3 because it wasn't as good as Halo 2. We were spoiled? Why shouldn't we expect the same quality from a game in the same series made by the same developers?

A lot of people didn't like Halo 2 at first because they didn't think it was as good as Halo:CE too. The difference is that after some patches and time a lot of people came around. After 3 years of Halo 3 on the circuit I'd be willing to bet the majority still don't like Halo 3.

Although I disagree it was very well written.

Actually, Bungie hired pretty much a new group of designers and developers. Most of Bungie's employers now came from the guys who developed Shadow Run. The ex-Bungie employers actually left and are heading toward 343 Microsoft. And if the Halo 4 rumors are real....... Ohhhhh MAN!

Quality shouldn't pertain to thinking Halo 3 should have button glitches simply because Halo 2 had them, or that the BR should remain the same, or any of the myriad of reasons people chalk up to as to why Halo 2 was the more dominant game. To think that people were spoiled on button glitches or a BR that was accurate to a tee, is no misinterpretation on my part, in my opinion. When something is made easier for you, and then suddenly the harder option is brought into play, of course people are going to say negative things, and of course people are going to be skeptical.

"Why shouldn't we expect the same quality from the same developer of the same series?" Simply put: progression. Whenever a new game surfaces the first thing you look for is new features, what will separate the two games distinctly, and whether these changes play into your favor or disdain. The lack of enthusiasm towards Halo 3, was largely in part to the fact that it didn't have button glitches, regardless of if those were just as they suggest...glitches. These games aren't modeled and created by perfect machines, they are made from men who have the same flaws and same weaknesses many of us have. To expect the same exact quality, the same level of enjoyment, and to be completely content with a new product every time it comes out is a ludicrous notion.

You could buy the same plane ticket from the same website, get on the same plane, fly to the same location, but your experience when you land will, nor should it ever, remain the same kind of experience regardless of if you do everything to the exact specifications of your last trip. Same applies to the Halo games, or any game developed by the same series. Although I encourage all perspectives, I just thought I'd comment on this.
