MLG Dallas : How Far Would You Go?

So I've been running a little bit short on money as of late.. but there's honestly NO way I am missing out on Halo 3's last event in MLG.
Instead of saving up for a plane ticket (like I had originally intended to do), I ended up buying a Greyhound bus ticket from Detroit to Dallas.
I'm from Canada so it's a bit more difficult to make it to events!
My bus leaves on Nov.4 @8:30am, and arrives on Nov.5 @1:20pm.
Not even sure if I can afford a hotel room... :/ So I have 2 questions for you guys!
1. Anyone willing to share floor space in their hotel room for free/super cheap? I don't snore :P

2. What are you willing to do to make it to an event?

Chicago 06, 14 hr car drive with team in rainy weather along with having to share a bed with a wide-awake Tex.

yeaaaaaaaah.


But really, the most I would do for a h3 event is maybe a 6 hour car drive. Depends on who I know from the forums are going or anyone I know online.

I've paid $950 for round trip tickets from HI to go to an event. I've never paid less than $600, and I've been to four events. I've also helped friends with money too. Sorry I won't be there or I'd let you crash. Actually, that's something I may do for TLN guys in the future.

My main goal though is to save up enough money to get from Niagara Falls to the first 2 events next year. Dont care where they are. But I'm going.

Hey there I actually also need to figure out room arrangements with somebody. I'm gonna try and buy my plane ticket this weekend (no way in hell am I driving from Fargo, ND to Dallas, TX) and see if Mazsik can hook me up with some contacts. I will definitely let you know if I figure something out. :)

Side story: I drove from Fargo, ND to MLG Cbus and from Flint, MI to MLG Raleigh. By myself. Crazy drives. lol :)

Seriously man let's do it! Even if we just split it 3 ways isn't gonna be that bad but I know we'll be able to find more people!

The only thing is I don't think I'm gonna be able to bring my monitor / xbox to get some night games in.

I'll be getting there Thursday evening because there is no way I am missing Friday again! And I'll be staying until Monday morning. So that is four days I need to find a hotel room for. The earlier we can get one the better because I really wanna be in the hotel attached to the venue this time...

But I believe it is ~130 / night = $520 + taxes+fees = about $550 to $575. I am able to front the money for the hotel granted ya'll aren't a bunch of shady bastards :P Just kidding I know if I front the money I'll get paid back. :)

Well anyone else who needs a hotel room let us know! The more people the cheaper it is!!!

Actually I just looked at the schedule aaaand: Screw getting there Thrusday! If I miss anything Friday it won't be that big of deal because it is just FFA's all day anyways! (Yay I get to have 1 more day of work to earn more money for this)

Sooooo the newly revised approximate total cost for hotel is: ~$425-$450! :D

Now I have to recheck prices for flights out of the middle of nowhere... :p
