OMG! I'm so excited! Getting off work early today to catch the start of the tourney.

We don't have a chat room so I'm begining this thread to talk about the event as it occurs. (or soon thereafter) So we can chat about matches, players, etc.

Also feel free to mention any other pro games you're watching this weekend, I myself happen to like watching the StarCraft matches.

Man i hope so freaking bad that its Str8 and Warriors on the stream. Any other match and MLG needs a kick in the nuts for not thinking about the fans.

Oh and i apologize, i'm not in DC i was just trying to make a catchy title. Should have titled it "live from dc! At my house!"

Every time they have technical issues! WTF don't they test this before they run it! Holy crap!

Aight we got Darkest hour and BTH duking it out. BTH took game one, DH took game 2 which was a very well played slayer. Game 3 battling right now! BTH looks a bit pissed about the previous lost.

OUch. BTH just owned DH on construct king, Snipe plus 11, Demon plus 16. onslaught ctf to finish?!

BTH just freaking ran this map to go up 4-0 in caps. DH was on thier heels whole time, BTH just showed perfect onslaught control. They look a bit scary at that game type.

But they haven't finished it yet!

Pretty crazy first series even though the stream started working for me halfway through the last game. :) Can't wait to watch the rest of this event! Hopefully no more stream issues this weekend. :p

Amen to that! I was hoping for a bit more of a fight from DH, but, even tho they lost a slayer, BTH is just stock full of too many power slayers. I'd be scared going into any 1 on 1 against those guys and it must give them such a confidence boost.

Man i love the starcraft commentators. They're so hyped up and constant commentating. Freaking bugs me that Starcraft has 4 different commentators that they rotate through so all games are commentated. But Halo, THE GAME of MLG, doesn't have commentators on the other games? Sheesh

Yeah I've been exited to see him play again since they interviewed him. I've followed Star Craft a bit since brood war and I've honestly been playing it more then halo lately. I was really excited when they said he was coming to an MLG event. I hope he gets 2nd place. That way he comes to more events lol.

Guess Carbon decided not to just GIVE their seed to warriors. They take a game, series 2-1 in favor of HandE.

Kinda sad to watch. Both teams very passive, defensive, playing not to lost instead of playing to win. Weak watches.

EDIT: Carbon off to losers bracket. Surprise surprise.

I love matches that end up like that though. It gives a chance for some fresh blood to enter into higher spots. Even though H&E isn't fresh blood.

Edit: Also like how I'm taking more interest in the SC2 tournament then Halo so far.

ok i love both Halo and SC2 so ima talk abit about both

First off
Day one H3 was weak besides the great games from Str8 we all saw BTH winning but it was a bit suprising they won with such GOOD numbers DH is a solid team. I was not suprised to see Carbon hit LB so fast but it is kinda a bummer i would have liked to see them go a lil farther. as for Str8 Vs. Warriors it almost looked like the warriors had no clue what what going on. Game 3 king was just a blow out. i really see Str8 in the WBF

Halo Reach FFA
the stream seems to keep showing horrid players on the opening rounds but the later rounds are getting better. after playing so much HR i feel confident enough to say i could hang to the end as well being able to say that makes me feel good i feel like im talented at it. that being said im suprised that AA and ADR are still in it taking first place in most if not all of their matches. maybe they just are that good. we will see if vS and Livin the dream can show the same poise their players have in the FFA. i personaly think NinjaZekkou has the best chance at winning the FFA he has thrown up HUGE numbers and has a solid DMR

now on to SC2
Idra is great but hes not god im still a HUGE HuK fan and no he is not in the Losers bracket. if i could have it my way i want to see HuK Slay Idra in the Finals. Idra is seed 30 so he may play some good players Including kiwi so he has a rough road ahead HuK is seeded 1 after his tourney win so he has 3 easy matches before facing a SC2 player that can challange his talents. same for Kiwi he has a Easy road till Irda!

Halo Reach FFA Finals
I really have never seen 8 players so evenly matched in a FFA Amish took a 3peat just 2 kills over Ninja who i said would win but the top 4 scores where 51,49,49,48 so it could have gone to anyone it was amazing to watch and they are all talented Congratz to Amaish for his 3rd FFA win in a row he is truly an amazing Halo Player

As for SC2 I agree hav, i would like to see huk take another one. Especially since they don't really seem to think he can.

As for Str8 I'm a little worried about them playing Final Boss, thats a tough match. But if they come out playing the same way as last night Final boss is heading to the losers bracket.

I think the most exciting thing about Str8, for me, is their lack of arguing. At the Lans naded was constantly upset with them, T2 was annoyed, Defy was silent, and Ghost was beating his head against a brickwall. Now the lack of arguing may also just come fromo the fact that they were destroying but i'm hoping not.

And then championship naded had definately shown up. It was like the tourney where carbon destroyed. Naded was excited, he was on, he was pumping up his team. Now i just hope he keeps that drive, cuz naded also has shown that he can come in dead on his butt, looking like he was about to fall asleep. So keep it up naded!

Defy is looking low on numbers like the lan, but his decision making looking very solid. All support, letting T2 and Naded slay and putting himself in the right spot. Ghost doing great clean up and great map running.

Big daddy T. Flawless. Playing his butt off, playing intense, perfect decisions and totally being main slayer. I'm still so/so about seeing T2 has a main slayer, but man he wants the title and he's playing like he is one. Great stuff.

Str8 for the win!

Holy Crap. Instinct VS Category 5, game 4 ctf onslaught, and category drops TWO goose eggs. Thrust 0, Ashes 0, Nightmare only had 1 and zoo wuu had 2!

3 kills total for your team in an onslaught ctf game!!! Omg go home! lol

Instinct had 27 kills (very short game), with roy and cloud both dropping ZERO deaths and a plus 10 and plus 9 respectively. Lunchbox 1 death, elamite 2.

Lol oh man, straight up embarrasing.

I think Kiwi is gonna wreck IdrA easily. HuK I think would be a close match against him. I'm honestly surprised Kiwi didn't win the first tournament. He has a better macro/micro then HuK but HuK seems to be the smarter player. Which Protoss is the least macro oriented of the 3 races.

HuK lost to select but had the whole crowd cheering and the announcers laughing at how he lost. He went out just being a crowd pleaser and toying with select. So SELECT v IdrA in the finals is next. And right now for halo its TD v Instinct on Ctruct Hill. Very close game so far but I'm hoping TD gets the win.

I am too. But it was obvious before he even started making the mother ship that it was over. SELECT took out his expansion with ease and also wiped out his army except for a few stalkers. I like how after the match they just walked over to each other and started laughing about the mothership. Its good that even at that high of a level within the bracket that players can still laugh and enjoy the game as it was meant to be enjoyed.

Lol Totz was actually given a technical yesterday for his excessive celebrating lol. But man he is playing hardcore halo right now, he looks great.

The mistake walshy made was on construct, Closed lift, he was in a br battle and in middle of the battle he picked up a sniper and tried to no scope. I think it was King of the hill, and the loss of the fight cost them bad. Shockwave was upset because he thought walshy did a very stupid thing by picking up the snipe in the midde of a br battle when walshy should never snipe. Thought Waslhy was being stupid and didn't know his roll

Andy Dynasty, wtf did they drink yesteray eh? Winners juice or something. With the way they were playing i thought they were going take TD out too. And honestly they should have won that guardian game, bloody close. I was laughing at that clutch "did i drop it?" comment too. Guy's never going to forget that botch lol.

Well days about to start, here's to hoping mad bad that they put str8 on the mainstage! Sons of monkeys. And hope SQ doesn't have the perfect STr8 counter like they usually seem to do. SQ has knocked them out numerous times :( Although would be funny to see Genesis take em out but i doubt that will happen.

Bah str8 down 2. I really didn't like str8's game play on that Pit Slayer game. T2 was just camping snipe midway through the game and missed like 6 shots when he finally decided to go play, after his team went down 5 deaths.

They're playing way too passive.

yeah they may not win this ball game... Str8 needs to hit fire... if they beat SQ they can lock a spot in the Nats but if they dont i fear its the end of Str8's year...

EDIT: Str8 needs to set up this ball and just hold it solid Scrappy time just wont handle SQ they have solid play if Str8 cant hold it for at least 30-45 seconds i see this ending badly...

EDIT: 60 seconds left and Str8 has ball can they win.... my heart is skipping beats...

str8's higest placing is now wht like 9th or 10th? they need to win to get 9th and that MAY just put them in the Nats

Completely agree. I absolutely love Status Quo but I would've rather seen them get 9-12 than Str8 Rippin be out of Nationals. </3

They're just saying that if they (MLG) made an error in calculation. But they didn't Str8 if officially out. And since T2 isn't gonna be there I don't wanna see Walshy there either. So in that case, GO DARKEST HOUR!!!! (They can still make it with a really good finish... :/

Yea but they lost to FB. Crazy thing is Carbon is now going to nationals instead of Str8 Rippin.

Semi-unrelated: I honestly don't know if I'm gonna buy the ticket to go to Dallas anymore because of it. I guess I'd still have SQ/TD/FB/Instinct to watch but as another thread pointed out, it doesn't feel like the national championships without T2...

So here's my concern for the finals. This always happens and rarely does it seem not to effect the team...but TD is going to be So COLD. Dynasty/FB playing thier butts off, very warmed up, very ready, TD going to have a rough start.

Unfortunately that always seems to happen for the winners bracket but today even worse since this will be TD's only series. Usually its both winners bracket on Sunday but they played one of them yesterday. I hope that doesn't effect TD too badly

Man no matter who wins all i'm going to be thinking is about the str8 vs FB game 5 where they lost by 2 kills. sigh... 2 kills.

EDIT: And FB VS TD it is. Despite all the crazyness this weekend this was pretty much the championships most of us expected to see. Here we go...Go totz!

EDIT: WHoa! How did i not know this was going to be how it worked out. FB has to beat them twice?! And TD only has to beat them once?! I guess i understand technically how that works since its double elimination, but I guess I don't recall a team ever needing to when 2 in a row when starting at 0. I guess its usually the same team that bounces back eh? Crzy!
