MLG Forums may decline...

Anyone else thinks the MLG forums will decline a little because most of the cool members :cool: would be posting in here instead especially during these LANs. :p

lol just thought it was funny and wondering what does Sundance think about all of this or would TLN make a co-operative partnership in the future. Who knows...

I've been on MLG forums since 2008 and only have like 14 posts on there. I like it much better here though because as of right now its a small forum with regulars that I enjoy seeing. It moves a little slower and everyone has a chance to get to know each other better.

I think people will post in both, its not like we will abandon the MLG forums for the next few days, although this site has a huge following,as it is unique just like MLG.

Yeah they still have the Pros and Open thread which are usually the hot topics over there during the season. And there's not much point in starting a full new team predictions thread here except to maybe avoid the spammish posts sometimes or for the LAN events.

I have been a member of mlg since 2005 and i don't think i have double digit posts there. MLG forums has to many trollers and ignorant people as compared to here. Plus i feel like this site provides better information on the pro teams and the pro players so i definitely will be on here more.

I don't think this forum will take over the MLG forums but like was noted before I like because it is smaller at the moment and a lot less spam nonsense that can go on in the MLG forums. But I wont stop posting over there, I'll just prefer it over here :)

Yeah I'm a major lurker on MLG forums. Been a member there since 2006 and have like 30 posts max. And every time I post it means nothing, no one replies to it and whatever I say just goes unnoticed.

Personally, I tend to just lurk more on the MLG Forums but so far have been trying to post some more here. I'm pretty sure I have more posts on here than I do there already..

I was never a huge fan of the MLGPro.com Forums. Just seems like, if I would post something.. In about an hour or two there would be 12 pages of replies. Then I'd be lost in the conversation.

I cant see it declining, But i can see TLN forum siphoning members. I joined in June 09, and i have posted less than 10 times. I dont see the point is posting in massive community spaces like that... Your get swept under the rug far to easily

What was +rep on the MLGForums? I remember everyone was big on that, like trying to get people to +rep them? Why was it so important for your to have + rep?

+rep would earn you green boxes -rep would earn you red boxes. Having multiple green boxes would make you look like and outstanding member/forum poster. The problem is that people would start posting ridiculous stuff to try to be funny and earn rep. It's a zoo over there.

I believe there are some different user titles here except they are just the standard such as Junior Member, Member, etc. Some custom ones would definitely be nice once the rest of the site is running smoothly.

Mlg forums are terrible. I have only bumped heads with one person on this website since I've been here (but he was wrong so he appologized). Everyone here is just awesome to eachother and we all have respect for eachother. I hope the MLG forums decline and all of the trollers and noobs stay there. This is my kind of community right here.

MLG Forums has 5 million members. Grant it there's tens of thousands of active members, where as the TLN has around 1,000 members. And most of the 1,000 members will only show up here every month or so: when there's a LAN here.

I regulate 3 forums, not including this one, but I still manage to post on MLG everyday.

Another thing, I've noticed more trolls have invaded the chat room lately. It sometimes got to the point where it wasn't even worth it to post anymore and prefer to go full-screen instead.

I believe this will be fixed if/when there are chat moderators appointed. It really got out of hand during this LAN but the great gameplay made up for it to the point where I really didn't pay attention to the chat at all.

I'm a member of a TON of forums and I always enjoy visiting the smaller more "humble" sites vs. larger ones. MLGforums is great for searching through if you need information (like google except you have to sift through a lot more bull crap) but for creating threads or discussions its pointless. As much as I want to see TLN grow in size, I hope its audience stays on the more mature level (at this point it almost has an "Elitist" feel to it) which will be a true test to the moderator and site admins to keep it that way.

TLN has definitely had a lot more visits on my web browser than MLGpro.com since its launched though.

This place is great and would be better if there was more discussion on gameplay. Hopefully by when reach comes out everybody will be hyped and post more.
