The LAN Network? Network of LANs?

I feel that incorporating a database for LANs around the country would be a great idea.
There should be a section of the website where people can search local LANs and tournaments.
I hold LANs in Texas and many times I just cant spread the word out far enough.
A big concise location that keeps up to date with open LANs would make everything much easier.

Shoryuken.com, the fighting game website, has something like this and it is very popular. Their events calendar is always filled with people hosting locals. They even let people schedule live streams and they get promoted on their front page. A lot of the times the streams are well produced and planned, not just someone going into matchmaking.

TLN does have a calendar you can openly post on but our community is still a bit small and your best bet is to post your event on the forum.

I like this idea I'm still looking to get a lan together but I'm just looking for the free time and some help hosting it.

If I had the money I would be so down to hosting a lan every month here in California.
