Mt Eden got me into dubstep and is the best place to start when introducing people to it for sure.

Major thumbs up for Dubstep, but Mt eden isnt what i consider Dubstep, I call it Chillstep. Not really got the dirty beat that i associate with most dubstep.

I have been loving Third Eye Blind like no one's business for probably 12 years now. Great experimentation with keys and use of pseudo-hooks, and Stephan Jenkins has a voice that is amazingly versatile yet always distinctive. The end result is a post-grunge rock band that is really unique in sound and also packs a weird kind of melancholy optimism, if that isn't an oxymoron. In any event, they're by far my favorite band, great live, and they managed to rediscover their groove with their most recent CD after missing Kevin Cadogan on their previous effort. If you've only heard Semi-Charmed Life, Jumper, Never Let You Go, and Graduate, you're really missing out on a lot of range and depth.

Feel free to rip me for being a mostly-grown man who loves 3eb. Don't let the moderator label scare you. I deserve it.

I disagree with the bolded. BMTH was the definition of generic deathcore before "Suicide Season" (Suicide Silence takes the cake for that definition now though). BMTH has also musically progressed quite a bit since those days.
