After some work updating the timing data from the previous version which was posted in another thread, I've decided to post this thread the new version of my Halo: Reach MLG Power Weapon time sheet. It is in JPEG form so should be easy enough to open. The timing data is taken straight from the Official MLG Halo: Reach Settings page (http://www.mlgpro.com/Official_Halo_Reach_Game_Types) so there shouldn't be any discrepancies. But feel free to let me know if your experience in-game differs from my sheet, as I haven't had a chance to test it out yet.

EDIT: After doing some in-game testing and checking in at the MLG forums I've worked out how I was going wrong with the times and why MLG's information seemed somewhat contradictory at first. b0b43 over at the MLG forums described it best:

... drop spawning always adds 2 seconds to the timer - like in H3, where it added 3 seconds. Only now, we can change the spawn timer down to the second (unlike H3). So the timer for Sniper, for example, is 1:58 + 2 seconds so it spawns exactly every 2 minutes.

And the reason why everything has an extra 10 seconds is that the game starts the timer from the Loadout camera screen. There is 10 seconds there, so the game calculates as that being the start. 10 seconds later, the game clock starts when in reality the weapons have already been up for 10 seconds. Stupid, I know - but that's why everything has an extra 10 seconds on it.

The timing now make sense, however because there are more than I had before I've had to do some design tweaks, nothing major though.

The newest version can be found here:
http://img814.imageshack.us/img814/6981/mlgreachweapontimesv2.th.jpg (http://img814.imageshack.us/img814/6981/mlgreachweapontimesv2.jpg)

UPDATE: The timer sheet has now been redesigned and updated for the MLG V2 gametypes. Hope you guys like the updates.

Thanks for all the kind words, and if anyone has any other suggestions for additions or tweaks, feel free.

:)

Not bashing you, because it looks dope. But, just becasue it looks so nice, doesn't mean people are going to use it, also the times are wrong. You must understand, the times you had last time were right, the weapons are on drop spawns, and should be picked up at the XX:10 mark, because of the drop spawn.

Looks solid, but you're making people use to much ink.

You don't understand what I am saying. I understand lol

A quote directly from the Official MLG settings page (as linked to above):

Weapon Respawn Time
Rocket - 178s*
Sniper - 118s*
Grenade Launcher - 118s*
Plasma Pistol - 90s
Shotgun - 90s
Jet Pack - 1s**
Armor Lock - 1s**
Hologram - 1s**
DMR - 10s
Needle Rifle - 60s
Magnum - 60s
Frag Grenade - 30s
Plasma Grenade - 30s
Health Pack - 30s

* = Constant Timer

That means that the drop spawn timing is taken into account in the figures that MLG provide on their website. Plus, while the Rockets are on a 3 minute spawn, the Sniper (which has always been this way) and now the Grenade Launcher are both on 2 1/2 minute spawns therefore not all drops are at a fixed xx:10 each time or even very often. I would urge you to launch a custom game to verify these yourself if you don't believe me.

Oh, and by the way, telling a senior member of the forums (Magik) that they don't understand something and proceeding to think you are better than them without explaining your logic, IMHO is quite rude and some people may misconstrue what you said as offensive. Just FYI.

And a heads up to anyone who is interested, I am quite happy to make a stripped down, more 'printer friendly' version as well if people are worried about the amount of ink this version will use. :)

I'm not worried about ink. I just save it and pull it up on my laptop whenever I start up 4v4 Customs.

And let's keep it friendly, guys.

@Cr4shdown

Awesome time sheet. Most visually appealing time sheet I've seen yet and I have seen a few. I haven't played since v1 and im glad to see the timers have changed a bit making them less predictable looking, know what I mean?

sniper spawns every 2 mins but on the sheet they are every 2 1/2 mins I'm confused I know everything drops right around the 10 mark and I haven't really missed a spawn since i figured it out

minor pain
10-25-2010, 04:38 PM
agreed with rasha, sniper is every 2 mins... at least from what ive seen =p

i just did a test on countdown with team slayer, both v1.1 i picked up the sniper at 14:30 and it respawned at 13:10????? not sure what's going on

ok just finished my test on countdown. sniper spawned at 13:10 then 11:10. rockets spawned at 12:10 then 9:10. so they are still on the xx:10 marker

I was under the impression that the actual spawn time was 1:58 seconds. Maybe I'm wrong.

google chrome to phone and saved for future use thanks for this man, looks nice

an idea you could put the times (178,118,???) for each weapon like above the name and move the for the (for mlg v1.1) to the top just an idea

just tested rocks on reflection slayer three times and they spawned at 12:12/dropped by 12:10 not 12:02 i think what mr killboy was talking about is that 10 seconds gets added or taken off from the loadout screen i remember mlg saying something about it

Weapon Respawns

The weapon respawn system has slightly changed in Halo Reach and we have also added Armor Abilities into our lineup. Here is an explanation how those will work on MLGs settings.

Drop Spawn The Rockets, Sniper, and Grenade Launcher are on drop spawns, allowing them to spawn on a constant timer. Due to the initial loadout screen, the timer begins 10 seconds before the game starts. Since it takes 2 seconds for a weapon to become disturbed from falling, the respawn timer has been adjusted to reflect that. If you pick the weapon up from mid-air, it could shorten the next respawn by 1-2 seconds. This means weapons can no longer be dirtied like Halo 3. The Sniper and Grenade Launcher are set to respawn every 118 seconds and the Rockets are set to respawn every 178 seconds.

Simple version In a 15 minute game, Rockets will respawn at 12:10, 9:10, 6:10, 3:10, :010. Sniper and Grenade Launcher will respawn at 13:10, 11:10, 9:10, 7:10, 5:10, 3:10, 1:10.

Looks like I am right, AGAIN. Just throwing this out there.

Mr. Kill is right. I downloaded the timings from u4ix off the MLG Forums and all of the times ended in 00:10seconds. Ex. Snipe in 15min. game: 13:10, 11:10, 9:10, 7:10, 5:10, etc... It's correct too, I sat with my friend to check if it was even off by a second or so to get an edge, but it wasn't.

Okay, I've posted this on the MLG forums as well to try and get some input from any of the guys over there. But in the meantime I'm gonna do some in-game testing on these timings to try and get a definitive answer on this... but not now, as it is currently 1:28am here, and I needs me some sleepytime :)

BTW, I refuse to start a flame war with you mrkillboy. I will be analysing this in a scientific manner and if it turns out I was incorrect then I will quite happily change my time sheet. However I would expect that you be civil about it if that is the case instead of gloating. That is the last I will say about it until we have some more definitive results.

@Vontoxic - I've never been smoked.
@Crash - I didn't mean to come off as gloating, or trying to flame you. I was merely trying to tell you and everyone else. Also, if you look at my quote from MLG. Which was taken from the link your provided in the OP, you will then know the times. Thank you good sir.

Just to let you guys know, my timer sheet has now been updated to cover the MLG V2 gametypes, you can find the newest version in the OP of this thread. I've also taken out the 30min game data as it is unlikely most people will be playing the 30min versions of the gametypes and I had to make room for Ball/Territory and 1Flag timings. If you guys really want the 30min data back I will try and think of a way to fit it in, maybe on a separate sheet.

Let me know what you guys think. :)

I love it it! Although if you were to make a sheet to include the 30 minute timers, Combine the Sniper / Grenade Launcher items and make a whole section dedicated to CTF / Assault with it split up between the weapons inside the section. I realize that makes the way it is presented inconsistent and I don't know if you get what I'm saying but feel free to add me on xbox live [xheuertagx 117] if you want to hear more about what I mean. :)

Mine had all of them.

Geez... If you're that bothered why not release yours again then and let people choose? I'm actually getting sick of you constantly trying to make this thing into a personal vendetta against you. ANY ONE can make a weapon timer, it wasn't just your idea other people are quite entitled to make their own versions, and if other people's timers are better than mine then I shall quite happily say so. So unless you have anything more constructive to add to this thread, I would recommend not bothering to annoy myself and probably others in this thread any more.

I'm not guy. Chill. You're taking a simple bit of info to heart, a little too much. It's quiet possibly the best timer I have seen. Good job.

PS. Have you been lurking or something? I've not seen you post in quiet some time.
