Astro gaming announced today their new in ear headphones, the A*STAR. They have 9mm drivers with a 20 - 20,0000 Hz frequency response range. It also has a microphone with controls for answering and hanging up calls, play/pause, mic mute and volume control. The A*STAR's also have flat cables (Beats By Dre style) Which prevent tangles and add durability. You also get a carrying case and you can also hook them up to your Mixamp for online play.

Also announced today was the new wireless mixamps, the Mixamp 5.8 and the Mixamp 5.8 RX.
The Mixamp 5.8 turns any wired headset into a "wireless" 7.1 sorround sound experience provided that your headset can handle the amplification. The mixamp 5.8 is on a secure 5.8Ghz frequency to avoid the clutter of other electronics thay are on a 2.8GHz frequency (game controllers, phones, routers). This mixamp can hook up to 4 RX units so you and 3 others can enjoy the same game, music, or movie, each with your own pair of headphones. The Mixamp 5.8 features the same classic game-to-voice volume control we have come to love with the previous mixamps.

I Have been looking for a pair of ear buds and these will most likely be it. not only will it it look cool and work with my other Astro products I like the idea of the tangle free wires like the Beats By Dre ear buds. Also, its Astro and I expect that the sound with music will be awesome. Def my next purchase when I can.
As for the mixamp, I dont like using wireless stuff. I hate having to worry about batteries. Watching movies with the family quietly, each with our own 7.1 headphones sounds awesome but we dont even watch movies often so the wireless thing just isnt for me. I know some casual players will be happy to hear that Astro has them covered on wireless now.
