...to want to actually win a game online?

Why is it so difficult to find people in MM that want to win? Between the quitters, betrayers, random XBL guests, people without mic's, people in private bubble chats, that guy who stat whores your own base with sniper while you're busy getting 3-0'd in CTF, and the full friends list of people who won't accept your invite because they're playing dubs with their BFF currently (without at least the courtesy of a message explaining why), it almost seems pointless to even try unless you go in as a consistent T04.

I'm not good, I'm not trying to pretend I am. I'm a competitive person, but I don't play competitively. I play for fun, but I have more fun when I win, so, I usually play to win.

It makes me wonder why I even play at all sometimes.

Kind of ties in with the whole "try-hard" discussion. It makes no sense why someone should get made fun of for trying to win whenever they play, since isn't that the point?

Another thing you reminded me of is all of the people (mainly in Halo 3's MLG playlist) who quit out of games when they start losing. Have they never heard of a comeback...? It's so annoying to suddenly be playing 4v1 just because we are down two caps.

But yeah, most people would rather get an easy win with them going 20-0-0 than get a really tough win going 15-8-12 (K/A/D) which really sucks for team play.

i guess you can say i found a team just recently but i was looking for the longest time and was thinking about just giving iit up but i stuck around and dealt wit rejection i guess ii would say,

i dont know yet but im teaming with itchy if everything goes well...we meshed well right away so yeah dude...keep your hhead up and run randome customs randomly...if you want to add me and ill invite anytime

I enjoyed playing with you two the other night. I can't wait until I get done with school so I can have some time to actually play some customs. I hope to be playing some customs with you again in the future.

on-topic: I agree 100% with taco and to just never give up on trying to find some guys to run matchmaking with. I thought that I would never find some guys that I actually clicked with until I played with taco, itchy, and I believe mongrel. We had so much fun. I love the fact that we had one team on MM to 15-0 on reflection before they got a kill! lol. that was awesome!

I'd love to be part of a team, but I don't want be ON a team, if you know what I'm saying.

Like I said, I'm not very good but I'm not terrible. I was a 23 in H3 for the longest time. Then I started playing serious in the last few months before Reach, and I got a 42 in just a few weeks.

I just want to have friends that will try to win, but won't freak out when we lose, and will be on and want to play pretty often...
