A Halo 2 Tribute

Stumbled upon this right now, seriously I almost cried. I never cry. Halo 2 IMO was the best game ever created. Maybe not to everyone , but in my experience it was the greatest 4 years of my life.

Nice Vid...it's saddening how much this series has digressed. That's when Halo was at its best and the peak of the "fun factor'." They way Bungie has changed the game, well lets say if this were a fortune 500 company, it'd be closed in this short 10 years. I really do miss the Halo 2 days, everything was fun and every map was tight (except Backwash).

Totally agree, out of all the installments I believe Halo 2 has had the most impact in my life. Halo 2 was EPIC i miss those good old days.

i miss being in middle school and my first couple years of high school when I could just go home and play this all day and not worry about college or going to work. I honestly cannot think of a game that I had more fun playing in my entire life. Some of my favorite moments in halo do not even come from playing MLG but from doing random things like Cat and Mouse, Lava Man, Just running around maps at 3 AM because you're too tired to take Match Making serious, or some good old big team battle on Containment and Waterworks. The Map selection was flawless and to be honest I would put every one of these maps above the reach map selection and almost all of the halo 3 selection. It took me until January after Halo 3 to come out to finally buy a halo 3 copy, It took me 12 hours after reach came out to buy a reach copy because I could not put Halo 2 down. It was just overall the best game I had ever played.

My favorite and most memorable moments would have to go as follows
1 playing halo 2 literally everyday with my friend dalton (TowelTruckGuy)
2 Non MLG LAN's that included playing games on every map
3 Playing Big Team maps when you could stat whore it up and every could tell (seriously the quality of big team maps is nowhere near containment and waterworks
4 super jumping and getting out of maps all night

I don't put any moments of playing competitively in here because I feel like getting in the competitive side took away from some of the fun and stupid times i had before I got into MLG. These are the days I wish could of lasted forever but sadly we grew up and Halo 2 disappeared. It is hard to believe that it has been 6 years since this game first came out.

Reminds me of the time before timed sudden death... where we would have hour long objective matches or more because someone would be losing, and super jump with the flag outside the map, and every1 else defend the super jump spot.... lol

H2 was the best, no cap on individual skills and you can talk crap to the opposing team.

Favorite moment would have to be all the epic Lava Man games where I would stand on a small box and have to keep beating it down until I was close to the flag.

Halo 2 was a beast of a game, first game I started playing on XBL. I remember all the fun games you could play in customs like Runaway From Barney (lol). The skill was more present in this game with a true ranked system.

Halo 2 was def the best game of all freaking time imo I loved it so much from hours of nonsense on all those great maps :)
My favorite memories are when I started a tiny little clan called XKS with my friend DimmestBread (jason) and it ended up taking off and we had over 350 people total in our clans. Had a website too.
I also remember signing up for the first MLG online tourney and Playing Str8 Rippin second round back when it was t2, fonzi, foulacy, and Legit. We got destroyed lol.
All night customs and super bounces were also amazing fun.
Honestly I wish I could go back to those days...

probably the greatest game of all time. All the maps were fun no matter what and the gameplay value was incredibly high in that game. Thinking about the Halo 2 BR gives me goosebumps and I wish it was still on xbl so i could shoot it :/

I'm hoping that this game will be remade for the 360. I mean it should for being one of the most popular games on the xbox even after halo 3 was out, right?
