What's up with Str8?

I mean what's happening with str8? The first day and they are already 0-22. I really hope something works out for them at this LAN. I'm not a big fan of str8 but i'm concerned.

Idk it just seems sketchy how they aren't even getting a win...

Not sure. I caught a glimpse of T2 getting a bit upset at his teams for not listening to things, I think at the time it was something about dropping rockets somewhere and no one made an effort to pick them up. Just seems like a lack of communication and they just aren't playing well.

I agree about the lack of communication. But LANs like this are perfect for trying to work out the problems before tournament time. I think they will get better as they go along this weekend.

Im a Carbon and T2 fan but to be honnest i def prefert BTH than Str8 right now ... cant win a game ... like only one atleast lol..

I'm really impressed with BtH from what I've seen. I'm not totally mind-blown by Final Boss because I expected them to do big thangs. Can't wait to see BtH vs FB, interesting?

Off topic: Does anyone else hate the MLG forums for all of the negative people and trollers? I try to help someone and they think I am trolling them..?

I am an FB fan, but give Str8 time, consider the fact that they have 3 new players for this LAN and Legit just left about a month ago, give them time to gel, chig is toooo sick and gho57 is solid.

Str8 had a rough day, which I kinda expected because T2 is playing with a whole new group. And both sides are trying to find the right mix of how to play with each other. T2 played really well for the most part and so did other members of Str8 at time but they just can seem to get it down as a unit. They get 3/4 dead in a flag match get a pull but then there's a lot of confusion during the flag run because they just aren't used to teaming with each other.

I've been a Str8 fan forever but I'm not worried. They will get better as the weekend goes on, and no matter what they are seeing things they need to fix as the games go on. So that's a help in itself.

On a side note - Instinct needs to play online before tournaments and not rely one one LAN the week before to make up for the lack of practice that other teams have put in. I was surprised that they won Columbus like that but I really don't think they can do that again. Anyways, that's just my thoughts. :)

I caught a bit of Gh0st PoV last night and his BR, IMO, is really inconsistent, there was moments of brilliance followed by moments of idiocy. I got the impression he was getting nervous, who knows but he lost alot of 1v1 battles.

Yeah I'm digging these forums. I feel sorta at home since I've been hanging around this site for so long and now we have a way to chat it up instead of just the chat box. FB was just FB, if they are happy, they'll play well, it'll be good to see some Instinct v FB and BtH v FB matches. Dynasty is also surprising me, not by much cause it's a good roster, but I didn't expect them to come out that strong on Instinct. Also thought TD would have done a better job against FB, from the previous LAN it looked like they were doing well against SQ, but I didn't watch it too much.

This is what I see happening to them at Raleigh. I really feel like they don't have enough firepower on this team to compete with the top teams. Inless their teamwork is perfect I'm not sure how they are going to beat teams like Instinct, BTH, FB, sQ, maybe even dynasty. I think at Raleigh they will be fighting for top 8. They just don't have the lineup to compete right now.

I just don't see str8 being very consistent. They may have a decent few series at Raleigh, but I don't think they have the staying power to make top 4. Instinct however, still has a good chance to win a third. They didn't look too great last night, but they have a tendency to pick up their game at a tournament. You watch, they'll surprise you.

i don't think str8 is THAT bad, just that both teams they played already are on completely different level in every aspect of the game.

i think i'll wait until they play all the teams at the LAN before i start bashing them lol.

Communication problems? maybe

I think the root of the problem is Soldier and Chig only listening to Ghost instead of T2. He was raging when they didn't respond through his communications. It seems both Ghost and T2 are trying to control the team and their clashing ideas on how to play.

My opinion of course... who knows what's going on with them.

Str8, as a team, doesn't work. They're all good players, but this is just the case of a team that does not mesh. Hopefully they can prove me wrong in the upcoming days.

Yesterday was the first day of the new str8 playing together i feel that today they will be a lot better... or i hope!

I think Str8 Rippin is slowly learning how to work together and what they're doing wrong. They're obviously fixing a lot of their mistakes because they are winning games today :)

Str8 seems to be slowly working out their kinks. I think by the end of this LAN they will be playing good again.

I thought to myself last night about Str8 'Dont be too hard on them they've had a major team change' but then then I realized thats its not that big of a team change because its basically just classic with T2 and classic had done well previous events.

Alot of people have been blaming Soldier for their poor performance but its not just one individual its the team and also Ghostayame IMO has been playing the worst on Classic and they need him to step up because hes a big player when hes on.
