I recorded the whole thing. I have 20 minutes of video. I thought it was going to be a short debate and I was going to throw it up on my youtube. Now I dont know if I should edit and compile just the sundance parts, it would just look super one sided.

It was basically about Kobe Bryant appearing in this "controversial" Black Ops commercial holding an assault rifle.

It is a great and effective ad. I don't understand how that guy can seriously think that like, I mean if he's against violence sure whatever, but for him to say that he's disgusted by the fact that we as a society think that type of "fantasy" is acceptable and desirable is flat out ridiculous. We are raised to be in love with heroes, and to strive to be a hero, or someone that people respect. So to play a game where the end goal is to save the world be the hero should be natural. On the multiplayer side of things, I have never thought to myself I love killing people I wish I could do it in real life, So that's why I play games where I can kill people. To think that other people's minds work like that is completely ridiculous. People like him were probably the ones saying that columbine happened because the two boys happened to play Doom and Counter-Strike.

Also I don't know why the coroner/mortician? was there, he really didn't talk about CoD or Kobe, he was pretty much selling himself. Gang violence was here way before Video Games, CoD didn't add to the number of people wanting to be a gang member, hell I'd step out on a limb and say 1000x as many people joined the army than joined a gang because of CoD. If he really thinks that people join a gang or pick up a gun just because they saw a CoD commercial then I have no common sense. They would just as easily see their favorite rapper or actor holding a gun and killing people, actually I think sundance brought that up, about every actor who played a bad guy would be in the same boat. He was there on a personal agenda.<period

Sundance seemed to really have a good grasp on the "issue" and had easily the most intelligent arguments there. That one guy tried to twist Sundance's words but it just made him come off as less intelligent.

Once again the gaming community is the bad guy... Violent and boarder pushing games have always existed. The ZX Spectum has violent games on it, Atari 2600 had sex games on it and the PC had a game where you play a member of the KKK that's sole purpose is killing black people.

Did these games get any attentions? Sure, a little bit, mainly because they were banned and people wanted to play them. But no where near as much as recent games. CoD & MoH have taken the brunt end of the stick recently because they are overwhelmingly popular and its a way for people like Jack Thompson to twist and mould people who don't know better to hate this new medium. Where ever you go your going to find people trying to get their point known by as many people as possible by latching onto something that is current and popular and bastardising it for their own needs and wants.

The exact same this happened in the 50's and 60's with TV. If enough people aren't convinced by charlatans like this it should get better when they find there new "Evil" Of choice.

I would have also liked that other guy who was supporting the Vidya industry to actually say something, he said 1 sentence and just seems to recede into the background for the rest of the interview letting Sundance fight his own corner against 3 other people. Not good

This whole argument is basically meaningless in my opinion. I am actually kinda offended that Sundance had to be there for that particular reason instead of him being there to have a segment done on MLG itself. Nevertheless its great to see MLG getting recognized.
