Personally i would love to attend an MLG Event but as i live in Ireland it would be way too expensive at the moment especially as an out of work electrician in these "harsh" times for people here. I am just wondering do people think MLG should have an event in Europe somewhere? Or has it been talked about before?

Would be interested to hear from Mr.P on this one too=]

In years to come, without a doubt. The competitive scene in Europe really is nothing compared to MLG. The amount of money, time and resources it would take to have an event anywhere in Europe wouldn't be worth what they'd get out of it at the minute. The closest thing really is ECL and they've only had one event so far (planning another i believe).

But yeah i don't think enough people would be there to be honest, no unsponsored team from the US would have enough money to cross the world for an event and there aren't anywhere near as many teams in Europe to make it worth while. Give it time, who knows.

"The competitive scene in Europe really is nothing compared to MLG"

Well the scene for consoles in Europe is small, but Europe is HUGE in PC competitive gaming. Their are a plethora of PC gaming teams and leagues in Europe. However, that's PC...

MLG is mostly console. So you're right about how it'll be a waste for MLG to have a tour in Europe.

dude i bet you only the Top 8 teams would be able to make it out there maybe MLG just needs its own circit for the UK or the rest of Europe

Being both a Gamer and from the UK i would love to say this would be an excellent idea. But, if MLG does come to the UK/Europe i don't think it would catch on. Yes MLG has its supporters here but Europe are predominantly PC based Gamers. Some of the biggest events in Europe. Feature exclusively PC games, Dreamhack. Where 4 of 6 games are PC based and the prize money is distributed for 90% of the PC gamers. I attended a few of these events in the days of Call of Duty 1 for the PC, and back then you could count the number of people who brought Consoles on one hand. But the PC opponents were sometimes peaking at 1000-1200 people.

I don't know why the US never too to PC gaming, But Europe, and Russia have always been devoted to it because its considered to be more tactical. With less emphasis on the console side, Dreamhack and the I Series have been devoted to older very very well established games, you get the best of the best of the best. that have been practicing every day for sometimes upto 10 years in order to predict their games and their opponents.

I think MLG would be on the fringes of the gaming scene in Europe. But if it came over once, for a 1 off top 8 showmatch series i think it would do wonders. But i couldn't see it catch on as much as I series or Dreamhack has.
