Hey Guys I recently just got my second pair of A40's and now I have two official MLG setups side by side so when I have a friend come over we can daisy chain our mix amps and look at each others screens while playing doubles or MLG customs. Here is a Pic of what it looks like. I took it from my cell camera so it's not a top quality picture:

I just wanted to know what your setups are like if they are similar to mine or different or if you have any suggestions on what I should change about it :)
Please post pics thanks!

My setup includes my recently bought A40's, but it all goes downhill from there. With my money spend on great sound quality, the rest of the setup includes a cramped storage room, a cold uncomfortable metal folding chair, and an old analog garage sale TV (although they some are said to have good response times). The things I would do for your setup... Maybe I should audition for UGH?

My Tv (which has to be on top of a book so it can be seen at a right angle)
My A40 headset and amp (with mlg dallas speaker tags)
My no slow controller
* Not the best but it gets its job done.

I have the top of my monitor level with my eyes so its almost as if I am looking down at it but not really down at it. I guess it just makes me play better than if the middle was eye level. I hope that answered your question :)

My setup is not too great. It's too good to be picked for the UGH, but lacking essential equipment such as a headset and a mixamp. I have some 20" widescreen monitor I don't remember the brand new for, an old Xbox 360 Pro, a set of VGA cables that are beginning to fall apart, and an old stereo I'm using as my "amp" with the speakers.
I'll see if I can get a picture up soon to see how bad it is.

Not all of them are 'my' games...my wife runs Viva Pinata 1 & 2 and Beautiful Katamari...I play the Lego games and Band Hero with her...
She has her own box and Wii upstairs though (She doesn't understand why I play on "little screens" instead of a "big tv" like she does)...but I like symmetry so I keep the games in my 'cave' when not in use

I'm curious as to why that particular model. The specs don't seem extremely impressive, pretty standard for monitors nowadays.
EDIT: Well apparently I didn't read far enough to see the previous post.
and I thought MLG was still using the ViewSonic 720P TV's? ... at least for Halo 3

Yeah man the NX2232W's are still the Mainstage - Offstage Monitor I think the Acer H223h are used for Display purposes like Showing Images of events or behind the mainstage etc. Seen on the Ultimate Gaming House that Shibby hooks everyone up with the Acer H223h and he says its the official MLG monitor so I don't know or aint too sure man haha .

apparently no one else knows either... lol...
I was hoping they'd move to something that was 1080P capable, and 2ms... especially with Reach being the probable new flagship MLG game. I think going to a straight monitor (as opposed to a TV) would be a good move as well. Most people were using the VGA anyway, and paying the price for a full featured TV was just ridiculous, considering monitors with better resolution and response time were half the price... it should get more people into the idea of having an "official" setup.

Yeah bro definatly for sure I mean I do hope MLG will move to a 1080p because they are still using the 720p version Viewsonic which has been discontinued for like a year now haha, but yeah man considering people shouldn't buy 1080p HD TV's with 2ms for like 220GBP when you can buy a Monitor for like I dunno 160 GBP and still get 2ms response time its just that ridiculous haha.

Hey small. I am not a perpetrator I promise this is my nickname that I have had since 2004 and I had no idea what competitive gaming was until 2007 I think... sometime near that year.
Any ways I love the acer with the HDMI cable... however I cannot hook my astros up until I get the Microsoft VGA cable so that sucks but I instantly noticed a difference between my HDTV and the monitor. I am glad that I purchased it and I recommend it to all who are looking for a monitor.
Also what I hear is that you cannot visibly notice the difference between 2ms and 5ms. I don't know if it is true personally but I believe it to be true.

Sound quality for sure...and I feel that the HPXs are comfy but for LONG sessions I would rather have my Astros on...the depth of the ear cups on the HPXs are a little too shallow for long sessions...my ears get hot and cramped after a while...but if I know it's going to be less than three hours HPX>Astros hands down...

This is an old picture. I took it when Nexy was asking for set up pics over twitter a while ago. Set up is pretty much still the same. What is usually in place of the fight stick is my PC's keyboard.
A couple feet away to the left is a 32in. HDTV that suffers from a bit of lag and its hooked up with a 20GB 360. This is basically for guests and family. The only time I use it is to record gameplay or play Single Player games.

I am complementing it and I was wondering because it looked kinda like my phone which is basically broke because the touch screen won't work half the time! so frustrating!
Edit: I moved my monitor next to my laptop so I will post some new pics of the location to show you guys what it looks like. I originally was going to do that but the monitor had the three prong plug in and my outlet only had the two prong so I had to find an adapter but was to lazy to until the other day.

if you have VGA inputs on your tv HDMI is the worst thing
Well theres a HDMI port in the tv and i get HD quality from it...so its fine lol
@syn: he's not talking about the visual quality, because HDMI looks better than VGA, no argument there, but most competitive players will tell you that there is a very noticable amount of input lag associated with HDMI,(which doesn't matter if you're just watching TV or something.)
if you have VGA inputs on your tv HDMI is the worst thing
Off-Topic: woot woot for my 400th post
HDMI>VGA Clickity click (http://homecinematics.com/107/vga-hdmi/)
Ecks Nine- VGA bypasses some up-scaling issues with HDTVs and cuts out some of the colors...so on some TVs it will be faster...but if you're running on supported or native resolutions on a proper monitor that is not needed...HDMI and VGA would run at the same speed and you would have a better signal quality because HDMI is a digital signal...versus the analog VGA...
MLG used a Viewsonic HDTV not monitor for Halo 3...plus Halo 3 runs at 640...not 720 or 1080...the VGA cables helped bypass the upscale issues with the TV and made for quicker response...
On the Acer monitor they're talking about or the VX2260WM the HDMI would be the better pick...

I have my setup running with the VGA cable and my astros hooked back up so I am super stoked! I also moved my setup to my actual desk that I wanted to use since my dad found the adapter to make a 2 prong plugin into a 3 prong one. I will have pics up tomorrow at some time.

My set-up getting Astros and and a real T.V on Christmas :) But I <3 my stereo set-up two Shaper Image zip connect stands (big black stands next to my T.V) Two mid sized Emerson's second shelf. Above that is a iHome half way in so it plays through all speakers and iHome. Plus two small, but powerful, Emerson's stands. On top of my T.V. Oh yeah I also got a Emerson subwoofer below my Xbox.
FYI the blue object on my subwoofer is my controller :)

My set up consists of a huge tube TV, half broken xbox, and a regular xbox headset (which also doesn't work most of the time). I'll update with pics soon.
My set up is : 20" LCD monitor, w/ HDMI to DVI ( box to monitor) & Optical out to an Astro Mixamp. Unfortunately My astro A40s just stopped working so i am current using Sennheiser 515's with the mix amp.

@syn: he's not talking about the visual quality, because HDMI looks better than VGA, no argument there, but most competitive players will tell you that there is a very noticable amount of input lag associated with HDMI,(which doesn't matter if you're just watching TV or something.)
i used HDMI and never got input lag or at least noticeable input lag
26" HDTV btw and i played kz2 and other ps3 games on HDMI without any notice of this at all

- A40s (MLG Speaker Tags)
- MixAmp
- Wired Controller
- Xbox 360(obviously lol)
I need a better controller, the one I got isn't that great.

Yeah I remember that game. I will never claim that I'm amazing at reach (Notice the "4 shot on my X" bubble). I actually recognized your name when we were playing. There are allot of people on here who play in the MLG playlist. I read on here allot but I don't post very often...
I don't like how Reach MLG is set up. Team of four (y'all) vs. two people partied and two randoms who aren't talking. Also, true skill obviously doesn't work. Master K3y, two randoms and myself played Clutch, Tizoxic, and APG a couple nights ago.
