Well guys, i want to release my map to the community before i send it to Mr P. So play it, work out anything i can work on, and changes etc.


TLN Destitute Map

Designed by Araneatrox, for The Lan Network Map Quest.

I'm a forger, and I have been forging for quiet some time. So I'm going to be blunt.

You're map looks horrible. It's way to open. I will download it and take a further look at it. But, other than that. Do not submit that.

Edit: The Sniper shouldn't be on this map. It's way too open. You have two useless random columns beside the long base thing. The ramps you made going to snipe. The small towers that look like something from Amplified don't need a lift. Try putting a slanted building block there.

Yea, thats something i have been working with Omnious. I started in the Room it is now, and constructed green and gold. But i soon realised it was far too big for what i was going for. After i had to artificially block LoS from maulers to bases i ran out of block for building the towers(Which were going to be about twice as high and have an inside to them. So now im toying with the idea of either completely scrapping it in favor of a small arena slayer map. Or Remaking it in the space that Atom is made.

I will decide what i will do after i get some feedback on it.

Where atom is made makes too much screen lag. Haven't you noticed on Asylum Sniper to Sniper view zoomed in screen lags really bad?

Right, after giving it some thought. First forge map didn't turn out as well as i would have hoped.

So im going to scrap this and not work on it any further, instead work on a slayer arena map based on an old Unreal Tournament '99 Map

That was a bold move releasing your map to the community you are competing it against. And I agree with everything Ominous said so please take it as constructive criticism. I don't know how much time you have during the week to work on your new map, but I know I would have trouble starting this late. So good luck to you there. I might reveal some pictures of my map later and see how to people like it, then I might upload a link depending. Competition brings out the best in people so great job Mr. P for the challenge. And are you entering the contest Ominous?

Thats the thing WiFF, I had no idea on how to make it better seen as i had run out of blocks while making the Towers near the bases.

So i released it to see if anyone had an idea. But after playing a few 4v4's on it ive decided to scrap it and work on a new Slayer map

I will be submitting it, but only because I made it a long time ago and I might as well. It will not be my featured map I will be submitting. The map I've been working on and the TLN community has play-tested will be my featured one.. and I am very confident in it. There would be no reason not to submit Impulse though. I made it, and it's a decent map, so I might as well submit it. The more, the merrier.

And I'm taking that statement as you saying Impulse isn't a good map. It's a good map. It's not great, but it's by no means bad.

The map I'm working on now though, Channel, is a completely different story.

Anyways, keep this on the topic of Aran's map.
