As of right now I have a shitty flatscreen standard tv that gives out noise to my A40s and messes up my mic (as most of you already know if you played with me) so I went to walmart today because I had to get some lights for my tree and my father suggested looking up
TVs for gaming I went over to the electronics section and found this Vizio 22" tv with 5ms. Guy there said it was a good tv for gaming. What I'm looking for is something that is mlg standards so I was wondering if anyone can throw up some tv suggestions for gaming that are like not cheap but not expensive. Here is the link to the tv I'm considering buying (sorry I'm on my phone so I only have the mobile URL) http://mobile.walmart.com/m/;jsessionid=D2AF06E72D19660D5B0B85250F13D57A?wicke t:bookmarkablePage=:com.wm.mobile.web.search.Shelf SearchResult&search_query=Vizio+22
Thanks guys,
Sabrea

don't get a TV. get a monitor. TVs have input lag/delay and u definitely don't want to deal with that. go with any viewsonic/acer/samsung monitor. the acer h233h is the one used at MLG and it's really nice. HDMI, DVI, and VGA so you can hook up blu ray players or HD cable boxes. i personally have a viewsonic and love it.
EDIT: the one above that Niko posted is really sick. it's the upgraded version of mine.

Taco, that Acer doesn't even have an HDMI input. Why would anyone want that?

Should work great! However, it's far more than you need, and more than your xbox will be able to make use of. You could get something for around $120-$170 that would suit your needs just fine. If you're not going to be watching BD on it then I suggest looking around a little. Maybe if you can find a cheaper one, your dad would be willing to use the extra to spring for a no-slow controller or something.
Edit: Didn't notice that it's an HDTV. You really want a monitor. However, the input lag thing is only half true. Usually there is no input lag on a TV if you use VGA. If you use HDMI however, there will be. It's just safer to get a monitor because then you don't have to worry about it either way.

I like the 2 viewsonics posted so far. Both look like great monitors and for a nice price too. I have the Samsung Syncmaster 2253BW which is a 22" with 2ms and I love it. They aren't sold new anymore however.
I highly recommend Samsung monitors (if you can find a good deal).

Less response lag ? HDTV's give u considerable amount of response lag. In my opinion I just love my Acer and I bet everyone who has one will proberly say the same. Get a monitor and get VGA - Xbox cable and you simply get 1920x1080 .
And also if your looking to play competitive gaming never ever buy 32 Inch upwards cause it will affect your gameplay if you buy a standard 22-23 inch Monitor or TV or attend events. " Just my opinion"

i would go with viewsonic over acer. i hear acer's customer service is practically nonexistent. samsung probably has the best picture quality, but i'd say viewsonic for gaming.
try out this webiste:

They test everything you want to know about the monitors. They don't have a lot of newer monitors though, but i used this to compare when i got mine.

Well I was determined to get mine for a great deal as I had a friend with one and I fell in love with it. I shopped around scouring the internet for any new/refurbished ones I could find till finally one popped up on Ebay (I know, risky). Well the seller had a $150 Buy it Now or OBO option so I made an offer for $120 I think and it got accepted. It was in the original packaging with ALL original equipment/receipts and was in PERFECT condition both aesthetically and mechanically.
The ONLY gripe I have with this monitor is the viewing angles, which in the instances of gaming isn't a big deal.
My friend also just purchased a newer version model Samsung for less than $150 NEW and when I remember his model number I'll post it.
