Exactly. The only good one is Russo and I can't see him staying on that team. Lifestyle stat whores and scarvayne isn't good. Its over for him, and if he was a god at reach, he would be on a much better team then that.

In order for them to get top 8, (Through WB)they would have to beat every team in their pool party. I don't see them beating 1 team in their pool party. They definitely are not beating FB and Impact. That is out the question. If they play Limitless, they are not beating them. Carbon vs. Classic is a toss-up. Not a fan of anyone on that team except Sypher, but im not a fan of anyone on Classic except Russo.

Here is how it works

"The Top 16 ranked players in StarCraft 2 heading into each Live Competition will be divided into four pools of five players each. The fifth player in each pool will be derived from the four players that emerge from the Open Bracket undefeated. The Open Bracket format has not changed from the 2010 Season. It is still a double-elimination, best-of-three bracket.

Pool Play will begin on the Friday of each Pro Circuit Live Competition weekend, with the Top 16 players playing every other player in their pool in a best-of-five series. After Open Bracket play is complete and the undefeated competitors become the fifth player in each pool, they will then run the gauntlet, playing each player in the pool based on the current pool standings, beginning with the 4th Place player and ending with the 1st Place player.

The results of Pool Play will dictate where each team/player is placed in the Championship Bracket.

Pool Play Results

1st Place – Winners Bracket Semi-Finals

2nd Place – Losers Bracket Round 6

3rd Place – Losers Bracket Round 5

4th Place – Losers Bracket Round 4

5th Place – Losers Bracket Round 3

Once Pool Play is complete, the Championship Bracket Format is identical to the 2010 Season. The Bracket will play out until one player remains and is crowned Champion. I honestly don't see FB losing in this pool. Impact will be their toughest match, I don't see that much else of a struggle there though.

I think it's determined by seed so for Pool 1 You have FB (1), Carbon (16) Classic (8) and Impact (a top 12 team)
Pool 2: Instinct (2), GMM(15), Warriors (7) and Ambush (a top 12 team)

So each pool should have two teams on opposite ends of the top 16 (1 and 16) and top 8 (1 and 8)

That would give the top 4 teams an advantage by playing teams lower in the standings.

Exactly! On top of that its not like the forum on the right even keeps a very good update going. I mean its not like theres not a ton of fans or people who would gladly commentate. Or heck even type of steady info on the scrolling forum.

Lan practice is still important but I think the new pool format will help new teams that haven't lanned together because they can lose a couple of series getting used to LAN and still not be out of the tournament.

No. because Russo is the only one guaranteed to do good. Walshy is questionable. Scarvayne is very questionable, and Lifestyle is beyond questionable.

It was basically 3v4 and we only lost 50-47 after being tied at 46. I know one map doesn't determine how good a team is but it was our first map and I just wasn't that impressed. I really hope they prove me wrong because I love Walshy and I hope to see him stay in the top 8 at least for a long time. I just don't see it happening.

Neither do I, honestly Walshy had his glory days in H2, and that's about it. I haven't really seen him do much else. He was mediocre at H3, and I am not sure about Reach so far, but I can only wish him the best. I like him as a player.

Carbon was thrown together before roster lock. I don't think there is much hidden chemistry there.

The only one who was a last second throw in was scarvayne and he had already played a bit with Walshy and Russo. I think that if a team underestimates them then they will pull a few surprises.

I can appreciate that. I know in '09 when FB was at their worst, I spent every event hoping the same thing. It eventually happened so who knows. I wish you luck my friend. It's ok with me if they come in 2nd behind FB ;)
