Question Regarding Team Names

Now that T2 is on Instinct, would an AM like me be able to pick up the Str8 Rippin name?? Need answers soon. No haters please.

I doubt it, you should ask T2. That name is too known for them to just let an AM team use it, but I don't know try using it when you sign up for the opener.

There is a rule from MLG stating that AM teams can't use a pro team name or a name that could be mistaken for a pro team name. This is being stated from memory. Sorry if I am not perfectly correct!

don't do this... its not the reincarnation of str8 rippin at all don't pretend it isn't disrespectful either T2 built the legacy of str8 rippin you can't just be that ignorant and think this is a good idea at all... and i say this because if you do try to enter your name as str8 rippin your going to gain yourself a really bad reputation so it's just good lookin someone has to be blunt

I'm thinking either MLG or, like some of the others said, T2 have rights to the team name and they would either make your pay a good chunk of money for it (which I doubt they would actually sell it) or would straight up deny you the right to use it. They prolly have that sh*t trademarked :P

Regardless of it were allowed or not, I think that people need to be original with team names, just taking another's team name is super lame. Besides you can call your team pretty much anything (original that is) as long as you can back it up with your gameplay.

As much as you want the name STR8 Rippin, you will end up being hated on and probably regret using it if your allowed, so like everyone else is saying come up with something original.

I think MLG protects the name - Any pro player that was on the team for a decent period of time would be able to take the name back but you wont be able to take the name as an Am player.
