R.I.P. Str8 Rippin

My first MLG team to watch on mainstream was Str8 Rippin back when they won the National Championships. It's sad to see the Str8 Rippin Logo go, but it's even more sad to see T2 give up the Str8 Rippin name just to join another team. He even has a Str8 Rippin tattoo on his arm. I hope one day T2 will come back and remake Str8 Rippin into what it's suppose to be, A team that destroys all the teams. Rest in piece Str8 Rippin.

The first time I tuned in to the stream was with Str8's dream team as well. I feel the exact same way. But somehow, I just know, that if T2 stays in the league long enough that when team changes occur the Sr8 Rippin name will come back. Anyone else think that??

This is also a shock to me, MLG won't be the same without Str8 Rippin, but new game new teams I'm guessing.

truth be told Str8 really died in the start of 2010 and t2 was the last standing member of it in the end. i felt really sad when i found out but then again T2 is my fav pro and ToTz is my second and RoyBox is beast so im very stoked for Instinct!

Str8 was my second favorite team back in the day I even have a picture if the team EW snipedown legit and t2 signed hanging up in my wall they were a great team but things happen always gotta look to the future.

I agree with Havkin. If Naded Legit Snipedown Elamite get together Iam sure they would have T2's blessing to use the Str8 Rippin name. Iam sure they would do it justice.

Same with me, the first time I had ever heard about MLG was with T2 being on g4. I then liked T2 and his team, and thats when I started to follow MLG. I feel happy for T2 cuz im a T2 fan, but the str8 shirts I have are pointless now.

Team changes happen, but I am also sad to see Str8 disappear. My first event attendance was actually the '08 Championships. That being said, it was great to see that squad dominate, but it is exciting to see what the individuals will do with Reach. One thing I know about T2 is that he is dedicated to maintaining a high level of performance with gaming, so I expect to see him come out strong in Reach. Good luck!

alot of names have fallen or been lost or even changed... The Agency was a great team in Halo 2 so was 5K so was Perfect Storm and Nice Like Rice but alot of those teams have changed, Merged, or been disbanded yet the pros still are around sadly maybe its Str8 and Carbon this year. it had to happen Big Named teams had to fall to the wayside sometime.

People outside the Xbox MLG community know about Str8 RIPPIN just from the logo. Tom, it would be good to form a team to reincarnate Str8 in the upcoming months if Instinct doesn't work out.

i dont really see str8 being anything like before.. the real str8 has to have t2 neighbor naded and legit.. thats where it was at.. look at carbon.. no ghost, shock, karma or strongside means no carbon

Ya it would be hard to see STR8 without the core guys that made them the IT. But it was hard to see Walshy leave FB and many thought FB would never really be THE FB again. But Ogre kept it going and now FB is aweseome agaain.

I think T2 could do the same. Yes it wouldn't feel right at first, but with Tom there, there's always the possibility that it'll still BE STR8. Just like Ogre keeping FB going.

It is too early to say " rest in peace Str8" I mean, teams haven't been locked yet, and like T2 said in his interview with Mr.P , " Any ex member could resurrect the name"

Plus rumors were floating around of Snipedown, Elamite, Legit, and Naded teaming up.
