I am looking to purchase a either a television or a monitor for gaming, any suggestions and help would be helpful. I am looking for it to be between 20-22 inches and be under 200. Which should I choose and what brand/model?

I am already sure this has come up so many times. I would go for a monitor 2ms just look OT Discusion you will find answers there. I like the Acer H233h but I am using VS Vx2260wm all in VGA .

I use a Acer P235H and it only has a 2ms response time but it's perfect for when I play halo and such. Monitors over tvs any day.

i got a 22" vizio tv (that i actually bought off a TLN member :) )
i love it. works great. 5ms response but i cant even notice the difference with that and when i play on the 2ms response monitors at the LAN center i go to.
my brother just picked up the newer version of this at costco today. its on sale for $199 (but unless you got a costco card, you cant go in and buy it :( )

i have the same monitor :) VS VX2260WM

info about the Acer monitor http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/ET.VH3HP.001 and as far as i ever been told or heard 5ms and 2ms makes no difference bc its too fast for the human eye to tell the difference

the only thing about the h233h (which I have and love as well) is that it is 5ms and not 2ms. You could look around and probably find one that is 2ms in your price range without difficulty.

Yea i've heard the difference between 5ms and 2ms is too fast for the human eye to register. However, if you still want that 2ms, just because, make sure you get a full 2ms, not 2ms grey to grey. Otherwise, its still just 5ms.

Vga for sure my friend. Always go with the vga.
Also any monitor between 19-23 in and 2-5 ms response time is good too buy. If you want something cheap to start out with go with a 19in 5ms response time monitor. Dell or something like that will sell them for pretty cheap.

I decided on getting the Acer G215H Abd 21.5" Widescreen LCD Monitor that was on sale at Staples for $120. It was too good of a deal to miss out on and it was well within my price range.
