I think if a team wants to do well, the best preparation you could get is performing at a multiple team lan at TLN. When Instinct won Columbus they dominated the 5 team lan just before the event. Final Boss destroyed at the 6 team lan in August and carried that momentum into Raliegh and won. TD was the best team at the 6 team lan in early October and propelled that confidence to their best placing of the season. At the latest 6 team lan, SQ upset everyone in the lan tournament and won it pretty handily. T2 helped them tremendously, but I bet the confidence they gained at that lan tournament was more important.

This was the best season of H3, and I think Mr. & Mrs. along with TLN staff have had a tremendous hand in this. There use to be just two team lans where pros would be practicing against the same play style over a 3-4 day period. This would would hinder their performances at events. On the other hand, TLN brought in 5 to 6 of the best teams in the world and let them practice against each other for over 50+ games, with a double elimination style tournament. These lans made these players improve, which helped in the fans in returnbecause events were more memorable and exciting.

Listening to team chats, players doing their own chat with the fans on the basement cam, and Mr. P interviews, let us get to know the pros more. I been a die hard Ogre/Final Boss fan since I found out about them in '04. In the '09 season my intrest in league diminshed after FB started to place poorly. Though I never gave up on them, but as soon as they were eliminated I stopped watching the MLG stream. Then I was on fourms and heard about TLN being streamed on JTV. I knew FB was going to be on there a lot with Totz joining FB and thus sparked my intrest in TLN. I seen that Mr.P had interviewed OG2 so I signed up. I not only watched his interview, but the other pro interviews like Sk, Pistola, and FIS. These interviews and subsequent lans made me feel as if I got to know the players, which made feel more invested into other players and teams. I never turned off the stream once this season, didn't matter who was playing. I owe that to this site.

My point is, TLN is great for teams and community members. I know the first event of Reach will be a lot more competive because of TLN, compared to the first event of H3.

P.S. If there is a winter lan, I hope some H1 could be streamed.

First off, let me say thank you for the kind words. From the start of TLN our goal was to stream as much Halo as possible.
Showcasing the best pro's in the world at Halo 3. From there we started to Lan 3 teams, then jumped to 5 teams, and then to 6.
I realized right away that with the community able to listen in on all the pro's communication, not only would that be entertaining but it would also be the start of a new breed of Halo players that would learn from all of the communications and strats the pro's have. With the addition now of the fantasy leagues and interactive fantasy, fans now are more well rounded on the knowledge of different pro's they might not have known from before. Now we start a new era of gaming with Reach. We at the TLN have many surprises and many great things to come.
I really loved to read this post that slippyal2 wrote, it is exactly what I intended to happen for all of the community of Halo players. From here the sky is the limit, and believe me this is more then a video game it's a league, community, entertainment
and a big family of people all together uniting with one interest. Thanks again for all your continued support. Put your seat belts on for the future !!

I love the point that Mr P brought out about the interactive fantasy. So often the focus is on slaying power and awesome slayers = awesome players. But it takes so much more to make a good halo player and so much more to make a great halo team.

Its great to see support players get the credit (points) they deserve for a role that IMO has always been sort of looked upon as the lesser of the 2 jobs and the easy one to replace. And we've seen what's happened to teams who've thought that. (and teams who've gone too slayer heavy)

TLN really is the best thing to happen to competitive gaming since MLG. And the interviews are just the best. You watch a tourny on MLG and you get 1 or 2 really brief interviews, and sometimes you get an interview written out. But man the interviews here rock. And to be able to ask the pro's a question directly! I been dyinig to talk to T2 for like 3 years and TLN made that happen without batting an eyelash! (figuratively)

You guys are the best, keep it coming. Big love to Mr and Mrs P always.

TLN really has MLG to another level I believe. MLG has gotten so huge the last couple years and now we get to see our fav teams battle it out before the tourneys, and I think it is even more entertaining than watching a tourney.

I believe these multi team lans have lead to the great competition that is showcased at the events. The future is bright with TLN, and I'm glad to be apart of it.

Fantastic read ! TLN = No1. I would love what TLN will do to make us even more proud in the nearby future for MLG and the gaming community and the TLN fans ! What would we be like without Mr P and the TLN community ?
