Yes, but I think we can all give them slack for that. There is no way anyone could judge 28 maps in one day. Let alone Christmas day. So they pushed it back. No big deal.

Then they realized how much work was before them after they got up to around 40 entries and after they started giving each map a fair test (1-2 hours I belive). So they pushed it back again. No big deal again, they got more entries and they had to prepare/execute for the first fantasy camp.

Yes a little irritation, but surley they wouldn't let us down again. Now it was due to two months after the original deadline, but this time the deadline was more accurate. It had to be right? There is no way they would postpone it again, right? Wrong.

This brings us to today. After about a month of no word whatsoever, nobody knows still. Not even a two line response explaining the new date. And what could be on the schedule to possible postpone the deadline for another month and a half? How about four LANs back-to-back and an event. How is that for business? Yes they have tons on their schedule, and after many attempts to squeak a word our of Mr. P we still have nothing.

I ask, Mr. P, Peridious, SOMBODY! For a two liner. JUST a two liner, yes. We don't want/need to know your excuses. We just want THE new date. Something in print so people don't complain. I personally don't care if you say the last weekend of July. Just SOMETHING. I feel the majority of forgers are irritated not really because it has been pushed back so much, but more because we haven't heard a single word for so long. So give us a July date. Then you could make us happy by finishing early.

I'm not sure what the questions are. I'm pretty sure my guesses are dead on target. They just make sense. If I'm right, then the winner is already more or less decided since Salot is gonna give his win to the forger of the other map anyway. So, they might as well that they say there is a tie, but there is one winner.

So they're waiting until everybody gets frustrated and doesn't care anymore before they say who won? That would just be silly, and it still doesn't provide an excuse for why they apparently don't even respect the entrants enough to say "we're working on it just be patient."

I know everyone is upset and getting a little hott headed, but just refraim from saying something you might regret in the end. In all honestly this is just a contest and not to take it any farther then that. I agree. There were some people who were impatient at the beginning, but most everyone had the patience to get to this point. Now I don't believe there is any reason to flame someone for this source of irritation. We all feel the same here.

I can see why you might be done with the contest, but I do not see why you would be done with the entire network. Yes you might have come because you heard about the contest. You stayed for the same reason we all are here. There is something different about this site and the entire community. We would miss you if you were to truly leave.

This contest was held to provide recognition for forgers and their maps. It (falesly) provided an opportunity to actually reward forgers for their work, instead of putting them on the backburner.

When politicians promised African-Americans their rights in the 1960s, do you think that it would have been justified to say, "Maybe next month. We have some other really important legislation to work on."?

Nobody should be getting on you guys about expressing your thoughts on this. You have the right to, a deadline was made and moved back multiple times and now we're all in the dark about it.

Anyone who is (essentially) telling these contestants to "shut up" or "stop whining" needs to just get out of this thread. Contestants are frustrated, and RIGHTFULLY so.

With that said, I don't think anyone is saying they hate Mr P or the rest of the TLN crew. We're just asking for a simple answer to end this all.

He started posting when the contest was announced. I don't think he means joined.

However, that's irrelevant. I'm going to temporarily close this thread until Mr. P, or any mod/admin has news on this contest. I honestly have no ideal as to when the announcement is being made, but I do know that this thread has been pointless for the past few pages simply because of the fact that it's the same repetitive statements over and over. The thread has turned into built up frustration (and this is understandable). It's not the catalyst to any sort of progression in the contest from what I can see.

I am sure Mr. P is FULLY aware of the situation. It has been made perfectly clear by a very vocal community what is happening. Bare with Mr. P, everyone knows he's a good guy and this is not something he is purposely doing or is happy about doing.
