View Full Version : Midwest LANs and Local Players Thread

MichaelMongrel

I noticed two things on this forum:
1. We lack some regional LAN threads, like "Players in _______" on MLGpro.com
2. There are a lot of people on here from the midwest.

The point of this thread is post about any LANs approaching and to play with some "local" players.

*This thread is mainly for Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.*

Post any upcoming LANs ASAP! If I could get these a month beforehand, that would be great so people can prepare to go if they'd like.

Great idea! I have some LANs in my area, but they are PC lans. Think they are worth mentioning?

Exactly... This list actually leaves out like half of the actual MidWest. North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin...

well there are basically no actual places to LAN in Arkansas but if I decide to I could probably get a place to LAN and host one in my home town which is northwesternish part of Arkansas. I know quite a few people on here that is within reasonable distances from here that could participate. If you guys think this is a good idea I might be able to set one up in the summer.

Think of it like this: Who is gonna drive or pay to go from say, Arkansas, all the way up to North Dakota just for a LAN with MAYBE a small cash prize.
The midwest is too big to be included in one thread. In fact, the midwest should be separated into two separate regions.

I guess I could add North, South Dakota, and Minnesota, but like I said, that's starting to really lengthen the gap.

Someone could post a thread for the other half of the midwest. It would make more sense to have two threads. Like I said, the region is too huge to be grouped together for this sorta thing.

Okay, so maybe I put Arkansas in there thinking it was Midwest. Probably just because Smallz is there. But still, the sections further proves the point that it's too big to include the "East North Central" sub-region.

Oh, and @Missouri guys: SmoothAsEggs (moderator on MLG forums) owns a game store/LAN center in Junction City, KS, and usually does LANs every month. If some of you guys could get out to Topeka, KS (which cuts off about an hour and 15 minutes of the drive), I could take some of you. They are usually really easy going and fun LANs. Would be a great experience to meet some of you too.
BTW, they are usually random 4s LANs. But they would be down to run some games against a set team of 4.

Topeka KS checking in.

I can confirm that Smooth's LANs in Junction City, KS are ballin'. Usually a solid 16-24 people at each and usually 0 tryhards.

Reach FFA and 4v4 Tournament in Peoria, IL Jan. 8th. We're driving up from Saint Charles, Missouri through Edwardsville, Illinois to pick up Cizzzats and through Springfield, Illinois to pickup Gammage, Dark Gammage and Anzio. We need a few more to possibly come along with us. So message me if u want to come to that.

Also, I'm holding a Reach LAN in Columbia, Missouri Jan. 14-16th. I expect 16+ players with two full setups.

This sounds promising. My new 2 bedroom townhouse with full basement in Glen Carbon sounds like the perfect place for a LAN soon. Stay tuned.

The main midwest states are the states that touches the great lakes. and i think also kentucky.
If u live in michigan, main lan centers are in Lansing, Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Traverse City <-- walshy lives there :)

Okay, so I want to have a LAN in... late February. Let me know what you all think. I may do it the first weekend of March if everyone would prefer that. We could LAN, and put March Madness games on the big screen. So, what do the midwest guys think? Last weekend of Feb, or first weekend of March?

I would go to this but I am going to a concert in Indianapolis on March 11th so I am saving up for that. However I really want to go to a LAN with a ton of TLN members just to hang out and get to know one another a little bit more and just to have a ton of fun! I hope this will end up actually happening and it turns out great!

I live in Liberty Missouri, and my teammates all live in between 10-15 minutes from me. So we're always down to LAN. And Tim, I'm trying to hit up one of Ben's LANs, but work always gets in the way. It would be nice to get to know most of the KS community that I haven't played with yet. You all should add me if you want to play sometime! GT: STATUS is seksy
